What MS has to say is becoming less and less credible.

The doctors and nurses there will make sure she is not in pain.

"she's not dying of starvation. This is a natural, painless death."

Then why remove the feeding tube? If this is natural, why do anything at all? And Michael knows this "natural" process is painless because.....?

And of course the astute and unbiased Larry King has no followup question. Reality t.v. at it's finest. No credibility whatsoever.

I heard this clip on Rush today and it absolutely gave me chills. You could hear the glee in this monster's voice--that kind of a rising pitch--when he detailed the "natural" process of death by...not eating. The first time I ever saw this man's photograph I knew I was looking at pure evil. They're going to have to dig a deeper level of hell to accomodate him when he dies. Perhaps he'll be as lucky as Terri and die by a similar "natural" means.

This type of denial and evasion tells you that his conscience is bothering him.

That is true, she will die of dehydration long before starvation kicks in. This is exactly the way cancer patients die.

She is not dying from starvation, but from dehydration. All living beings can go much longer without food than without water. She will die from lack of fluids, not lack of food. (Please don't misinterpret this clarification as a defense of the husband's rather cold explanation on Larry King.)

I doubt he believes it.

He's purposely mixing two seperate scenarios.

1. When a person is near NATURAL death, such as cancer or "old age", the person loses appetite and even thirst (GRADUALLY) and gradually withdraws as the bodily functions NATURALLY shut down.

2. When a person is NOT NEAR DEATH, and the organ systems are functioning normally, he/she will still experience hunger and thirst, and to deprive such a person of food and water is horrible inhuman, barbaric cruelty.

I am shocked and sickened beyond expression of what is happening to Terri.

No, she cannot swallow. If you put food or water into her mouth she could not chew or swallow, she would choke.

This is staged to intentionally let no doubts about how evil are the people murdering Terri.
Who stages this? Ask the M.Schiavo, the judge, the journalists reporting ....

Cancer patients may indeed NOT EAT at their end of life, but they don't go without hydration! This guy is a lying sack of crap... Who actually believes this guy?

If this were not so tragic, Michael Schiavo reminds me of the shopkeeper in the infamous Monty Python "dead parrot" routine trying to doubletalk that he has sold a "live Norwegian Blue .... pining for the fjords."

They'll put her on a morphine or fentanyl drip when the symptoms get severe...she'll sleep her way out of existence via anoxia/hypercarbia due to the suppressed respiratory drive.!

Happens in hospitals every day. So few people actually get to utter memorable death-bed "last words" now a days!

"People with cancer in their last two to three weeks of living, they stop eating. This is how they die."

That's just not true. My wife died of brain cancer and I fed her and gave her fluids right up to the day she passed. She never suffered what Terri is going through.

Michael Schiavo, what a lying POS.

From Nightline 3-15-05:

CHRIS BURY

(Off Camera) Your wife's family and their supporters have been arguing in the most graphic terms that what you are going to allow happen on Friday, in their words, is in effect, "condemning your wife to a cruel death by starvation." I'd like you to address that charge from them.

MICHAEL SCHIAVO

That's one of their soapboxes they've been on for a long time. Terri will not be starved to death. Her nutrition and hydration will be taken away.

Larry, she's not dying by starvation. This is a natural, painless death. What happens is when you stop eating, your electrolytes will slowly diminish. You'll slowly go into a nice, deep sleep and then pass away. This happens to people all the time. People with cancer in their last two to three weeks of living, they stop eating. This is how they die.
I want to take this apart, and I do not want to discuss all the contraversial medical issues of the past, or if she can be rehabilitated. From what I have experienced when my brother died of cancer:

Yes, Michael Shaivo, you creep...he stopped eating. His feeding tube rotted inside, and the doctors did not feel it should be replaced. But, he was on high doses of morphene - he felt no pain because of the medications. He died at home, in the arms of his loving wife, in his beautiful clean, cozy room, and with all the family around him. He had a peaceful death. Terri deserves at least that much. If and when she passes.

No one knows how much a person suffers from starvation. Old people often die that way, alone in their apartments. No one was around to see them. Others in nursing home are kept medicated, so they probably do not feel the pain. Others have no sensation left, hence they do not feel pain. Terri was reacting to pain, so she must have some sensation left.

From all that I have read, none of your theories apply to Terri. I do not recall hearing that she is being given pain medication, and there is nothing hooked up to her that would register the level of pain that she might be experiencing. Beyond that it is cruel, simply cruel that she is in this sterile, cold environment during her last days.

If for nothing else than to allow her the possibility of enjoying being in the arms of her family, you should remove yourself and allow her to be with them lovingly at her side. The narrow-minded judge should at least give her family the right to be with her every minute and keep Michael out of the room. He said his goodbye years ago. Whatever time she has left should be time that she be provided the ultimate in compassionate comfort.

Since he think starvation is so nice and peaceful, perhaps he should lock himself up and have himself starve to death.
