The efforts of caregivers may in some cases complicate the death of the patient. Giving a patient water, for example, may prolong the process. "Going without water makes it more gentle," Lynn said. "Allowing chemicals [in the blood] to cause arrhythmia is more merciful."
This has to be one of the most grusome passages I've read in a long time. ABC should be ashamed.

Did anybody wake up this morning or in the middle of the night with that gross dry mouth? Has Terri had any water in 2 DAYS!!! I've seen, as I am sure many of you have, a person who is severly dehydrated. The inside of the mouth at that point is not a pretty sight. And not peaceful.

Why do you think you know more than the Doctors? I have never seen such hubris as I've seen on these boards. You're all expert lawyers, judges, Doctors. You know all about eating disorders, brain scans and best of all, you're all mind readers in that you all know what Terri really wants. It's just incredible. You all should take your act and go on the road.

In advanced cases of ketosis, the nervous system response is dulled, and patients rarely feel pain, hunger or thirst.Notice how they only mention the "advanced" state? There's no mention of the pain, hunger or thirst felt before a person reaches the "advanced" state.

"Patients at this point are uremic filled with bodily toxins and are unaware of their surroundings," Mirarchi said. "They develop electrolyte imbalances that eventually cause an abnormal beating of the heart. And that is pure hell for the patient to endure. I think ABC needs to remove its own tube and die, and while they are dying they can take Mirarchi with them. Good riddance.

The fact of the matter is that these Doctors and experts have no way of knowing if what they are saying is true.
Even a primitive animal suffers dying of starvation and to have the gall of saying it is peaceful and the patient feels nothing is the height of arrogance on their part.
If they want these people to die then just give them an injection of something lethal at least then it will be fast and relatively painless. But don't tell me that death by starvation that can last up to two weeks is a merciful way to die because it isn't.

Reporter and et al should have heard woman on Sean Hanity radio show this week. She was:brain-damaged beyond hope: for 70+ days. She heard doctors and nurses talking about ending her suffering. Only religious wacko husband stood in way of doctors ending her life. Felt and heard everything, including feeding tube being pulled out without pain relief.

"The patient's experience is really pretty benign," said Dr. Joanne Lynn, a hospice physician associated with Americans for Better Care of the Dying, a group working for improved end-of-life care. "Overwhelmingly, what will happen is nothing." In a perfectly just world, a ghoul like this would be locked up in cubicle and be denied food and water commencing at the same time that her helpless "patient" is denied food and water. Once an hour every hour a video feed would be run from within the cubicle and the ghoul would be asked to give thumbs-up sign as long everything was pleasant, benign, and comfortable. But the moment the ghoul flashed a thumbs-down, both the ghoul and her "patient" would be have their food and water restored.
Call it a hunch, but I think Dr. Joanne Lynn and Terri Schaivo would already, today, have their food and water restored.

ABC: "Death to the disabled!"
"Put the disabled out of their misery, but do it in a merciful way!"
These people become more frightening every day. They must not be allowed to run our nation!
