Me, I'm going out to get a living will on Monday. I don't want anyone scoring cheap political points off of me while my body rots away on some bed. I'm going to make sure whether I live or die is up to me or my wife, and not up to anyone else.

One of the things that Frist pointed out that I didn't know was that Terri has never had an MRI!!! For God's sake, how is this even a question?
That may be debatable. But it does make him INCOMPENTANT to judge this particular case since the biggest piece of evidence is video of Terri. I didn't realize it until yesterday, when it was mentioned on local talk radio in Memphis, and there is a thread up with a story about him being blind. I've not kept up with this situation in the past few months due to losing my husband to a heart attack. IF I didn't know he was blind could that mean the Congress doesn't either?
Today is Palm Sunday and Terri Schiavo is starving to death in our great country of abundance. Meanwhile, the democrats are threatening to stop congress dead in its tracks in its efforts to save Terri's life. So let me get this straight: The democrats want to ON PALM SUNDAY go on record as being the Party that wants to kill Terri Schiavo. Yep, that's about it.
And some of these very same democrats (for example Ted Kennedy) are Catholics. Meanwhile, the Pope through his spokespersons has issued statements in support of saving Terri Schiavo specifically, that it is evil to withhold food and water from disabled individuals. Therefore, these democrats ON PALM SUNDAY are on the record as telling the Pope to go jump in a lake. On Palm Sunday.
There are some liberal doctors and nurses who are alll for death like the liberals who hate Terri.
The Terri situation is just another vivid example of why we can't allow liberals to be in control of our lives. Or we could end up like the elderly mother of your friend you told us about.
The daughters may just do that newspapers.
Interesting, the husband had a stroke last summer and went from unable to talk, feed himself and take care of himself to an apparent full recovery in months. His FP tried to write him off in the ICU, and the daughters were/are outraged. They got his care in the hospitalist transferred to a Hospitalist.
They have finally convinced their Dad, that he needs a new FP. This is the second time the FP wrote him off. The other time was due to congestive heart failure. We got him under the care of an excellent cardiologists, and our friend has been told by the cardiologist that something besides his heart will probably kill him.
"Who is that brilliant scientist who is confined to a wheelchair and unable to talk? Is it Stephen Hockings or something like that? Someone really ought to get films of some of his life and present it to congress. He wrote books, taught classes, and lived a full life."
His name is Stephen Hawking. Below is the search link re what he has contributed to our world.
