ND - It's up to the person handling the firearm to keep it under control.

I do think women cops have a place in our police. But they shouldn't be asked to guard a linebacker or a guy with a record of demonstrated violent behavior. 'Nuff said.

I agree that we should have female officers, but let's be serious, why in the world would you place a single 5' tall, 50 year old, woman on escort duty for a 200+ pound former football player that was accused of violent crimes against women???
It makes no sense whatsoever. It was an incredible breakdown in common sense that resulted in the death of 4 innocent people and the critical wounding of a fifth. The Atlanta police screwed the pooch on this one, plain and simple.

This article hits home with me after this last job. There was a lesbian woman working in our crew who wound up getting paid for about 2.5 weeks of work to stand around and occasionally tie a rope onto something to be lifted up the tower or be sent to get some hand tools or materials.
Apparently she had bought into the lie that a woman could do anything as well as a man could. However, when it actually came time to enter the stripper tower it seems that she couldn't lift or lower her own body weight into or out of the chimney tray.
(chimney tray...
)
The rest of the crew was forced to take up her slack because of her inability to do her job.
On the work that she
was able to perform inside the tower you could tell by her manner and demeanor that she would've preferred to have been standing on the ground doing nothing instead of working. Since I was the one who told her to get in the tower and work "the attitude" got directed at me. I carry no man at work and I'm
not going to carry a woman just because she is a woman. If you make the money do the work or stay home!
She has ensured that her happy a$$ will
not be working with our crew again.
Perhaps some other hapless crew will get her the next job and they won't be as polite or as nice as I was when I was asked by her how she worked. I must admit...I flat out lied to her because I didn't want to hear the uproar I would've created if I would've told her that she didn't do enough work for me to make a judgement.

"Fargo" by the way, is not a comedy, as some are inclined to believe. It is a very sick movie that plays on regional stereotypes to titillate its pseudu-sophistcated audience.
Great analysis.
Your analysis of the Cohn brothers and Ann's root cause of the deaths in Atlanta are right on.

I think I have an idea that would save money and lives: Have large men escort violent criminals. Admittedly, this approach would risk another wave of nausea and vomiting by female professors at Harvard. But there are also advantages to not pretending women are as strong as men, such as fewer dead people. She has a point 8-)

Well, all I was saying was that it is not right to not give someone a job, if they are qualified for it, just because of their gender. Ethically, politically, and legally, it's not right. But, I do see what you are saying about the 5' tall, 50 year old grandma. That doesn't make sense, but on the other hand, we should still give people a chance.
