The plantation idea is overworked, everyone makes that comparison. To me, the Democratic Party is more like Scientologists - whacky, out of touch, and vicious about dissent or contrary opinions.

My understanding is that according to old censues reports
there were only 176 Plantation Owners. Cleary not a majority.

I believe the 1880 census (last before lincoln freed the slaves) was 3.9 million slaves in the south (white, black, south american, etc) and 39,000 in the north.

Not the hundreds of millions claimed by black activists.

That's pretty accurate. The dated and increasingly irrelevant ideological prejudices of the Democratic party which are continually dredged up and magnified out of all proportion, keep the constituency in a perpetual state of perceived victimization, from which they can never escape.

Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation was announced during the Civil War, in the early 1860s. The effect was immediate.

Black activists make the jump that all blacks who are descended from former slaves deserve the same 'former slave' status. If true, then I need to sue Germany for the Kaiser's oppression of my anscetors in 1800s Silesia.
