You were correct up until the last statement. The filibuster rules have been changed to make it HARDER to block votes, to my understanding. The cloture vote used to have to be 2/3rds, and now it's only 3/5ths.

Just got on their mailing list myself. It's always nice to know I've wasted a couple of bucks a year they'd otherwise have to spend on their candidates.

Except that their 'doomsday' option is no more than a threat. Government can't grow if they shut down the Senate. It's a dream come true for conservatives if they appoint judges who will shut down unconstitutional crap anyway, because the Senate won't need to be open to get things fixed!

LOL! We really should start a pool on what date he finally appears. I pick his only appearance this spring will be on Tim Russert's show Easter morning.

Mark this day folks! After many years of being with brass ones, the GOP might finally be getting a pair.

From your title... "Terrified Democrats worry".

I like this part best of all!

The question remains, are the democrats trying to goad the republicans into "going nuclear", thus creating political hay for the dims to feed to their sheeple?

I'll say it again. Senator Bill Frist could make history. He could step up and shut down the minority-gets-its-way nonsense that now plagues the Senate and make winning elections actually translate into political power.

Frist has nothing to lose because he isn't running for reelection.

With one action, the Democrats are neutered and judicial appointments are the prerogative of the majority again as they DAMN WELL SHOULD BE.

Remember how well caving in to Arafat always worked when we had that rat cornered? Apply the lesson learned to the Dems, unless the Republicans are too timid to lead, that is. In that case, they need to be replaced by those who will seize the moment to move ahead.

" All normal ideas of warfare have long since been discarded by the enemy. Only we good natured Germans still hold to them in the mistaken idea that we might thereby bring the enemy to reason." from: 'Resistance at Any Price' by Joseph Goebbels, 22 April 1945...

Ah yes, Little Joe would be proud of Little Howie!

Hope you are right, but for the Pubbies, it has reached the no-turn-back point. Lot's of political damage if they back off now.

Frist's finger is poised on the button. Let the Dims quake with fear that their last stranglehold on the American public is slip, slip, slipping away. It's a beautiful thing to witness.

They know that this could very well be the rudder that could turn America back to the right path against the tide of "progress" that their ideologies have imposed on the rest of us through their corrupt hedonistic, nanny state judges .

Scaring the demonrats is one thing...not a bad development.

However, it is NOT changing the rule, something that should be done for now and for the future. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. I'm willing to gamble that America is best closely following the Constitution.

Get on with it. Change the rule.

Hmm. You may be right.

I've come to ignore statements by the Reps as talk. But when the Dems start showing signs of fear, there may be some truth to it.

Come on Frist, come on Reps. DO IT! We're not afraid of a government shutdown, we welcome it. LOL You push our judges through, and we're defend the PR front. We did well for the President after all, remember? latest study coverage 3 times more favorable to Kerry and yet WE WON. Have some Faith in us.
