Her two Achilles heel, IMHO, is that she is single, never married, and has never been elected to public office.
Against Hillary, these would not be deal killer negatives, but are very large ones that nobody seems to want to address.
Look people - no matter what your personal convictions are about abortion won't matter. The fact is that most conservative activists ARE anti-abortion and ALL of the religious conservative voters are very nearly single issue voters on abortion. If Rice doesn't change her position on this issue, she will be radioactive as far as most of these people are concerned. The idea of nominating a candidate with a built-in handicap is foolish - unless she changes here stance. If she does that, she will have the Oval Office for the taking. Her base shouldn't have to compromise - she should as their representative.
" Abortion should be legal, but NEVER occur."
Then Murder should be legal.
I'm just not a one issue voter, even when its the issue of abortion.
There is no 'pro-choice'.
You have pro-life and pro-abortion (death).
We don't do word games around here.
I don't trust any of them to be honest, on every single issue. but the system has checks and balances in it, and we are far better off defeating Hillary and working with whomever we can elect. Our party stands for nothing if it allows the Clintons to walk back into the white house in 2008. The conservative base can't elect a president on its own, it has to be part of a larger Republican majority.
Hush! Just because YOU don't have any convictions doesn't mean no one else can!
It would appear your post is the exception.
So the Republican party would rip out a major plank of their platform and run a pro-infanticide candidate in 08. I would hope the Republican party would never be so suicidal.
Like this:
There are questons, and the MSM and online world will look for answers. Will her supporters here be happy with the findings?
That sucks, doesn't it?
well many conservative on FR would sit out......I'm not one.....though I agree with the views here most of the time, this site is still further right than most of the US and damned adament about it......LOL.....
Oh, good grief...grow up already.
Are we talking personal convictions or political convictions? There's a huge difference and I don't believe you personally know me well enough to judge.
In case Scotty has just beamed you down from Mars, here on Earth, 'Pro-Choice' is nothing more than "looking the other way" when the Abortionist (aka baby-hitman) exceutes...er...I mean "aborts" in the name of "Choice."
What a bunch of RINOs have invaded FreeRepublic!
Go over to DU and peddle your baby-killing tripe!
How many unborn children will be saved by staying home and allowing Hillary Clinton to be elected? And how many born children will die at the hands of terrorists if she is? I'd rather have a "mildly pro-choice" Condi Rice in office than a vehemently pro-Marxist Hillary Clinton.
Sir, I asked for someone to kindly explain. I guess I'll wait for a different poster.
That's right.
If She is the nominee then the democrats will win in 2008 period.
