Personally, I have a theory that higher education makes you stupid.
I have 6 years of higher education, and being born a genius I am now fairly average.
In two years time, I'll probably reach the DUmmie stage, and be ready for my new proffession:

From this distance, looking across miles and miles of prairie and then beyond that, miles and miles of the Atlantic Ocean, I see something else.
I see the long, grasping, fingers of Berlin, silently and cadaverously reaching out to snatch things that do not belong to them.
MadIvan, madam, is one of the most erudite and reasonable members of Free Republic, not to mention one of the most colorful and creative; stimulating and provocative.
There is no way I could "discuss" anything with MadIvan; it would be his 800-pound gorilla against my 10 pounds of monkey. I prefer to watch MadIvan, not to attempt to match wits with him.
I must say, however, it is always interesting to watch, when MadIvan and John_Wheatley go up against two dozen, or even thirty, anti-British American members of Free Republic; those two guys single-handedly demolish hordes, and with such wit and clarity.
BTW:
You do know that MadIvan is part Norwegian :-)

I would have to agree, watching MadIvan and some of the others having a go is fun and educational.
Perhaps 'lively discussions' was too lighthearted a phrase. Being fortyish, female and often times foolish, I am able to enter into discussions with erudite people hundreds, nay thousands of miles away and have a good time. Perhaps they, you?, find me silly, but I am learning so much from the dialogue.
Someday, I'm hoping to sip New Wine while discussing things with one of the greatest thinkers England has ever produced, C.S. Lewis.

Being anti-cowboy is a "sophisitcated, in your face" means of expressing ones cultural superiority. Unfortunately, the more you learn about cowboys the more they categorically resemble knights in shining armor. Old Europe has no room for "the good, the bad and the ugly", they have drowned in a sea of Sartrian existentialism and feel wonderful about themselves for doing so.
Leonard Cohen sang that a drowning man wants to die - Europe is controlled by the culture of death and the new world order which is in some part due to the pervasive dominance of anti-Christian secret societies who know who they are.
Judicial systems from top judges to lowly constables are owned by secret societies all over Europe. Old Europe is in some kind of end stage death-throw.
