With the boys on the line, don't look at me to put your theory to the test.

why is everyone mocking these people? They put their Chimp in a sanctuary cause they understood the situation. It wasn't like they were playing touch football with them...the attacking Chimps were wrongly let out of their cages. They were not supposed to be loose.

Some loonies try to tell us that chimps are almost human.

It takes something like this to bring them back to the reality that chimps are just animals.

I really felt badly for these people until I saw Ladonna on GMA this morning.

Charlie Gibson asked her if this shows that chimps were dangerous and shouldn't be kept as pets.

Her answer (paraphrasing)

" Oh no, that would be DISCRIMINATION, why you don't know how it was raised, blah blah blah."

That did it for me. Nut cases.

I don't know..but what's the difference? They put the Chimp in a place they thought was a safe haven. They loved this Chimp. I don't get it, but as a dog lover, I understand the love one can feel for an animal. It wasn't their fault that these Chimps were loose. As batty as you think they are, it's not like they were swinging on trees with them.

, at least one who had a history of violent behavior culminating in bodily injury to a human?

But that one, Moe, wasn't one of the attackers. I'd have thought he might come to the defense of his people, although from the stories I've read it's not clear if he was loose or in his cage at the time.

Sadly, these people suffered terribly when there was no need. I want to say, delusional, when it comes to their anthropomorphizing the birthday chimp, but I'm biting my tongue.

I missed that - The Chimp wasn't one of those attacking.

Oh I don't know. There a video of a couple of gang banger types beating up a kid in a Target parking lot that didn't seem much different than this incident, except that in that case the calvary arrived quickly enough that the kid wasn't badly injured.

I feel sorry for the guy, all his fingers are gone.

It sounds like he may be lucky to survive, although I'm not sure I'd want to if I were in his shoes. It certainly would cut down on the number of my posts at this forum.

"One was at his head, one was at his foot. But all that time ... he was trying to reason with them,"

"Guys, guys... let's be reasonable about this..."

Good Lord...

One question- what happened to the fingers?

There was an interview with one of the responders, he said there were parts all over the place. They found his nose and some of his foot , but he didn't specify beyond that, other than to say the guy had no face, one foot had been chewed off, and his testicles had been ripped off.

"One was at his head, one was at his foot. But all that time ... he was trying to reason with them,"
Good Lord. How do you "reason" with wild animals?

That was my first question. Not downplaying the seriousness of this man's injuries, but the first answer that came to me was, "He must be a Liberal".
