"Where's Michael Savage?"

In a perfect world, a mental institution.

Savage is so monotonous after a few weeks. I can now only go about 5 minutes and I've heard it. Every hour of every show is the same and it now wears on me. He's made it due to his ranting and that's not enough to last.

In a perfect world, a mental institution.

I'm still of the opinion that Michael Savage is one of the best in the business...I suppose it's due to my libertarian leanings, but I just can't get enough of that razor-sharp, New York accented tongue that lashes Republicans when they stray too far from the reservation as well as the looney left Democrats when they are more suited for that mental institution you speak of instead of the halls of Congress...

There's humor, too. The other day he rebuffed a defender of the L.A. Times by saying the paper was only good for "dog clean-up"...it had me ROTFLMAO!

Ironically enough, a _liberal_ radio personality has said basically the same thing: Harry Shearer ("Le Show") calls it the "L.A. DogTrainer"...

True, WKOX and WXKS have sucky signals but they still cover a lot of ground. I'd say their signals are better than that of WTTT (1150), a conservative signal that didn't show up (though even if WTTT had more power people might still prefer WRKO, WBZ, or WTKK due to local content, etc)

I would think that Rush or Hannity might do a LITTLE better if they were to move to 1200 or 1430. Maybe 2 or 3, but not a 0.6...

(meaning they'd do better on 1200 or 1430 than Franken and company are doing now...)

I agree. Little better are the operative words.

At one time Rush on a mediocre station meant big ratings or at least decent ratings. Now as shown in my Atlanta and Orlando examples it doesn't.

Your Atlanta example does not hold up.Rush is on the Braves Station that was the first all news station in Atlanta and has always been a competive number 2 on AM in Atlanta.
He suffers from competition in Atlanta. His first hour is Head to head with last hour of Boortz who has always beaten him.At 1PM he goes head to head with Clark Howell who has a unique following as well as Bill O'Reilley and a sports talk station.

Hi Blessed: While WGST is the #2 AM station, WSB has 9.9 share of the audience, WGST has a 2.7 and is tied for 14th among all stations while WSB is #1. The information I have isn't broken down hour by hour and these numbers are all listeners 12+ Sun through Sat. I'm sure Boortz gives Rush a run for the money, but Clark Howard? While I enjoy financial information, Clark is not interesting to listen to. His information from a general perspective seems solid however. Not sure how or when O'Reilly airs on WSB, but I can't believe Rush doesn't beat him. WQXI (Sports) is the 23rd ranked station. Ratings are at this link: http://www.radioandrecords.com/RRRatings/DetailsPage.aspx?MID=14&RY=2005&RQ=1&MP=1&OTHER=2&MN=Atlanta&MS=GA&MR=11&12P=3786400&UP=3/4/2005&SU=CM&BPER=27.4&HPER=6.4&OPER=&NSD=4/1/2005&CE=0

Again, put Rush on a weak station and his numbers aren't great.

Even your reference confirms what I wrote.WGST is the #2 Am station in market.WGST and WSB have identical signal strength except after dark.

Feeble Minded radio listeners do not listen to Talk Radio as they never turn to AM.Clark Howard is not my cup of tea but he has a 9 share going head to head against Rush and O Reilly.

Rush has never done exceptionaly well in Atlanta because he never has been as good as Boortz,Kim Peterson or even Hanny-pie when he was local.Atlanta has had the talk radio format for almost 40 years.Talk radio was realitively new to many markets when Rush went National 15 years ago.

He went head to head against Boortz. No match in brains or ratings. He admits Boortz made him a star by running him out of town.
