Hearty congratulations, Buckhead! You have my respect and my admiration.
Many years ago, I was hired to restore the reputation of a gentleman who had been viciously and erroneously accused of wrong doing by the reprehensible dan rather > lower case intentional. rather's reckless disregard for accuracy and truth were in full flower even then. And for a time, that same gentleman lost his career and was forced to endure public disgrace.
Happily, that's not where the story ended. rather had been dead wrong, and eventually his lies were deconstructed and my client regained the respect that was due him. Never heard a word from danny boy about any of it -- not that we expected him to be honorable. What a silly idea that would have been!
For all of the above reasons and more, I look forward to the CBS henchman's so-called retirement. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Buckhead! You couldn't have brought down a more vile excuse for a newsman.

I found it interesting in the article that Taa-Ray-Zah has dropped the Kerry from her name now that the election is over. Not surprised, just interesting. Imagine the MSM if after the election Laura dropped the Bush from her name.

No way Dan Rather cries during his final broadcast. No way the network would televise it anyway. Remember there is a time delay--Janet Jackson safety net--now. More likely, stoic Dan's last words for us will be "Courage", just before he puts a Colt 45 to his head and pulls the trigger. Expect a lot of dead air on that broadcast!

Sorry I can't make it to the big party. I will be at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I invite everyone to join me for a toast to the "bull writers". What started in Houston ends in Houston.

I'm going to "celebrate" Rather's last broadcast the same way I have for most of my life, by not watching it.

Out of curioisity, has CBS even named his permanent replacement yet?

Way to go Buckhead!

Laura Ingraham is positively gloating all week at Dan's demise. I must admit it feels mighty good to see the old mule being taken out to pasture. Maybe he'll get taken behind the barn next . . .

might be thinking of someone else, if so, please accept apology...

I believe you have the right guy, although I lost track of him after he left the Augusta paper.
