I heard about this some time back. I liked it then and like it now. If they are rampaging through our streets causing mayhem and destruction, let 'em have it.

Gun control; no weapons; everybody should be nice to each other! What kind of morons can live a life on this earth and be so naive? They, these morons, got angry at the Kent State debacle. They got angry when rubber bullets were utilized. Now, they're angry about a non-leathal riot control method. Meanwhile, the rest of the world who hates us can do anything to us and it's alright. After all, we're the bad guys. Has all logic disappeared?

Cool.
The U.S. military keeps up the good work.

Perhaps John Tritor was right.

Screw it. Just go back to the tumbling .223 and the humane effects of a kiss from a full metal jacket AR-16 friendship gift.

It's OK to tear them in half with a rifle shot, but don't hurt them with this prototype "pain" gun...
To: LibWhacker
Lemme see now...
If we get 'em to stop by making 'em hurt, that's worse than havin' to kill 'em instead?
I'm jest a country boy a course, but I cain't quite figure this out...

Even if the use of temporary severe pain can be justified as a restraining measure, which I do not believe it can, the long-term physical and psychological effects are unknown. Yes, it is much preferable for the military to only have the option to blow people up.

Anyone ever read "Heretics of Dune"? They used something like this in that. It's what caused Teg (Duncan's guardian) to develop superspeed. We should go with the heat beams like in the Left Behind books.

It concerns so-called Pulsed Energy Projectiles (PEPs), which fire a laser pulse that generates a burst of expanding plasma when it hits something solid, like a person Let's see if I can design this. You have a carrier wave (light) modulated by kilowatt peaks. Those peaks must have their periods extended long enough to be felt by humans. Those square waves must also be modulated by a low frequency.
If I'm up a tree with this concept, tell me why.
