Hewiit was 6 years and 4 lovers down the Di train when Harry was conceived

Well, that's a good thing.

You used a nice turn of phrase there: "the Di train." LOL.

Yes. I am glad they remain friends. However, I am still a romantic at heart and I want them to get back together again.

Yes, I admire Edward, too, for choosing his love over a crown. I wonder how many men would do that?

There were people in the press that gave her hell. Of course they do that to everyone, but they were downright cruel to Diana after she had William and gained weight. It may have contributed to her "eating disorder". They gleefully made fun of her clothes, which I'll admit were a little funky for my tastes. Then she started losing weight, and they complained about that! Not everyone can blow off constant criticism. She eventually learned to do it, as we all do, but at first it must have been horrible.

It must have been awful for someone who was suddenly thrust into the spotlight like she was. Not to mention what was going on in her private life at the time. I don't imagine she had any meaningful moral support from her inlaws. Her inlaws were probably as bad as the press towards her, but in private.

Of course the press finally figured out which way the wind was blowing, and started printing favorable articles about her. I loved watching Diana come out of her cocoon, and turn into a beautiful, composed, and giving woman. Every time her name comes up here on FR, there will always be posters who will trash her. They are forgetting that Diana's friendship with Mother Theresa transformed her. Diana did a lot of good in this world.

You're right about Prince Edward. Lucky guy is off the radar, and living a nice, normal existence. From what I understand, Prince Andrew and Fergie live on the same property and share custody of their daughters. The Queen should never have forced them to divorce in the first place.

If the monarchy is meant to continue, they need a strong representative. I think Prince William fits the bill. I wish I had it on hand to post, but he was quoted as saying something about joining the military for that reason. Diana did a good job raising that boy, but unfortunately it didn't rub off on Harry. Harry knows that he's the "spare". He will act accordingly :(

Well, some of that I agree with and some I don't. It was fun seeing Diana though transforming into a beautiful young woman who was there all along...just buried in the foofee, rumpled starchiness of "what some call proper." She did emerge as a beautiful butterfly and I always considered her a westerner after that. She just looked the part.

I think both families were for this wedding. his family because of the heirs and hers becuase of what it would bring to Diana and the rest of HER family. It was all a ploy from the beginning and I think Diana liked the publicity until the media showed its true and ugly face.

I myself hope William does NOT become heir. Maybe now he can live a REAL LIFE IN THE REAL WORLD for a change. As for Harry, I think it is mean spirited and plain hateful for people to talk about him belonging to someone else. That is horrible and how hurtful must that be to him?

We need to leave thsee people alone and stop dogging them. It's their lives. If they choose to ruin them fine but...it is not our business who is who and whom belongs to whom. Just because they are in the limelight doesn't mean people should want to tell them what to do all their lives (which Charles already stated.)

Back when Charles was a youngster there was NO WAY he could have been allowed to marry whom he wanted. Thus his love for Camilla never died. He did his duty with Diana. She in turn had two sons she love dearly. Charles and Diana both behaved badly and both are equally to blame along with the total silliness of the monarchy in this day and age.

I'm glad Fergie and her former husband have such a wonderful relationship. Their daughters seem to be nice girls. Never hear anything about any of them WHICH PROVES...you CAN stay out of the limelight if you truly want to.

Rest in peace Diana. Best Wishes to Charles and Camilla and if the boys had any sense, they would run as far away from the throne as possible. They deserve to live a happy life. There's been too much tragedy surrounding them and too much nasty press since they have been young children. It's now time for people to mind their own business and let these young men get on with their lives. They will make their mistakes but haven't we all.

Yes, the press was horrible to Diana and Sarah. Their friendship was a blessing to both. I wish the Queen had not forbidden Sarah from moving close to where Andrew was stationed, that marriage would have survived. I don't know why she even listened to the Queen. I would not have. She loved her husband and he loved her, but no marriage can survive that much separation. They never saw each other and she had no support as the military wives have here.

Poor Harry. He needs a mother now more than ever. His father is too wrapped up in his own life to do anything for him. Too bad Andrew and Sarah can't step in. Yes, I have heard her say on talk shows that they co-parent. I think that is great.

Yes, am glad they remain friends too. Who knows? Perhaps they WILL get back together. Either way, they have shown their daughters the right way to behave under circumstances like these. They are civil and nice to each other and you NEVER hear junk stories about them. I admire the both of them for putting their children first above all else.

As he his hatred for all things British spirals into madness, I think we need a reminder of how it all started.

Thank you for confirming you are an idiot. I have no idea what meaning your badly-constructed sentence was supposed to convey.

Quidnunc used to hate "all things British", but lately he has turned his attention to the Canucks.

Your own hatred of Britons is well documented, wanker.

I feel bad for the kid.

I think it would be better to grow up in abject poverty then grow up in his position.
