Of course the tidal forces at the event horizon would rip your half full cup apart, not to mention your body, so observing the unfolding of the universe might be a bit difficult. Sorry to spoil your party. :( You're a cup half empty kind of person aren't you. ;)
Look on the bright side - depending on where you get ripped in half - you might get to see it all before you bleed out since time has slowed down so much.

Sometimes they see whatever will put the theory together, not matter how absurd. That's why it's a theory. Fill in the holes with guesses, then try to prove them wrong.
I am more concerned with a theory (such as global warming) where the holes get filled in, nobody tries to prove them wrong, and somebody starts making policy out of the mess.
