Strategery + Schardenfreude = Stratenschardenfreudery
Thank you Lazamataz,
My English had better be good, I'm a translator.
Cheese eating surrender monkeys?
Maybe. But frankly, on the issue of surrender-monkeying, I would give the grand prize to the Spanish for caving in to Al Quaeda. What happened there after the Madrid bomb attacks left me in a state of shock.
Mostly all of Europe is in a state of Cheese-eating Monkey-hood... even the majority of my compatriots (who are - or were - now I'm not so sure anymore after the elections), mostly against the war in Iraq.
The whole psychology behind it is complex. (for another time, another thread).
But anyway cheese is good, surrendering conscience is bad.
Grazie amico! The support of Silvio Berlusconi is much appreciated by those of us keeping score these days. ;)
Isn't it amazing how the left, here and in Europe, continues to repeat its mistakes? They took this track against Reagan...wailing over the Pershing II missiles, his stubborness at Reykjavik, his "crippling" tax cuts...
and he grinned, stuck to his guns and rode into greatness.
A dozen years later, another cowboy is in the saddle and the same bunch is eating his dust. C'est bon, tres bon!

You make an excellent point but I have always preferred American wines...in Missouri, my state, there are several small but excellent wineries, and I buy those for table wines.
Otherwise, I do like Italian wines, and Australian wines. I've never been knowledgeable enough to get anything adventurous, and I'm not enough of an aficionada to learn, alas.
But I do think Italy is very beautiful, and would like to visit someday. It's my daughter's dream to go there and paint for a summer, but I don't want her to go, I think she'd most likely never leave! She does religious art for both Catholic and protestant churches in a very traditional style, and is getting well known in our area.
All the best, FRiend. I hope to see you posting on these Euro articles, you have good opinions.
Let me guess. Cheese eating surrender monkey.
Outstanding-- ROFL!
GUNS UP...a nice win...now let's hope they don't drop the next one!
Thank you for your gratitude and excellent analysis my fellow Italian freeper. Welcome to Free Republic.
That was my first thought, too.
I have no idea why our prez goes over to meet with this fool Chirac. What have they done for us other than to undermine everything we do.
I'm going to miss my Grey Goose vodka....F the Bstrds. [Of course I've missed it for years, along w everything else Frog...LOL]
Speaking French when a guest cannot speak your language and you can speak his? How rude. Bush shoulda given Chirac a good ole fashioned texas ass-whippin to teach Chirac the manners his momma failed to.
No.
I have not forgotten.
But you would be amazed at the number of people who never knew that the French were never really part of NATO.
LOL That's funny!
Thanks, Hudobna :)
Ciao WestTexasWend,
(Just the word Texas makes me happy and I don't know why!)
Yes, it's truly amazing how the America "Fascista" of Reagan and the America "Fascista" of Bush brought democracy to lands of oppression, (with torture, rape, re-education camps, political mental institutions, poison gas, mass graves) while Europa "Democratica" stood by worried about liberté, fraternité, egalité... and the humidité inside their brains... but mostly the tranquilité of their bank accounts.
70% of Iraqis voted... and the great geniuses who LOVE democracy and say it as often as the Arabs say "Peace" still don't get it. They still haven't learned that where there's democracy, even an imperfect one, wars and terrorism are far more unlikely.
Thank goodness for American "horse sense" - what keeps you from becoming enamored of old philosophers with bushy beards and baggy pants.
"Mr. Gorbaciov, knock down that wall!"
Whereas our geniuses at best would have suggested ways of making it prettier!
"Axis of Evil"
Whereas our geniuses are more than happy to appoint those countries to chair Human Rights Committees.
Ciao to you and everybody. This old girl has to work!!
Viva Texas
