Garner Ted Armstrong will always remain the King...of this league anyway.

I dunno, Jack Van Impe will always be the tops for me. Rexella reading horrible headlines with such a cheerful tone was my favorite part.

Sounds like you were another long time viewer, and admirer.

Dr. Scott was a true man, a genuine man, a spirit man.

The song I remember was "I Wanna Know". :-)

Yeah, "Get on that tele-fone!" and then "I Wanna Know" repeated about 20 times! LOL

I was about the same as you were, but then lost interest.

As someone mentioned earlier I did like his defense of Our Lord's resurrection, and many years ago, when I used to go to a few different Pentecostal churches in the SGV I heard a lot of ministers use is communion sermon -- seemed that quite a few used a lot of his "non-wacko" sermons as outlines. (I believe he was originally Assembly of God, but I'm not that certain right now ...) But that was, what, in the 80s! (Yikes that long ago?!?!) sheesh ...

He was once a bishop (equivalent) in the Assemblies of God.

Gene Scott opened doors for people that other tele -evangelists couldn't. Dr. Gene was OK by me.

It probably was Dirty Laundry. Dr. Scott played that song a lot. In fact, he went word for word teaching the lyrics of the song and even had his band learn and perform the song. Dr. Scott was NOT a fan of the MSM. Check out the lyrics to that song someday.

Dr. Scott was not a televangelist. He was the fulltime professor on the University Network. :)
