"The loss of childhood - because predators are not removed from our midst - is truly a tragedy."

But is it really that much worse today, or were the predators always around and shame and a "blame the victim" mentality surrounding sexual abuse kept many from even coming forward to identify these creeps? Also the fact that we now hear about every horrible crime in the country, if not the world, within hours of it occurring?

Undoubtedly parents' fear of these predators has stolen much of the freedom from their children that we enjoyed at that age, but is it justified? Maybe it is justified and we were just ignorant of the dangers lurking out there years ago? I don't know.

She's telling the younger generation that her generation had it better than theirs.

I don't call that griping.

Good point. I suspect that it's always been around, just not in the sheer numbers. The ease of reportage would probably skew any attempt at an accurate count.

Suffice it to say, we've got actual organizations that seek to make child predation just a 'lifestyle choice', and they've captured the propaganda 'high ground' by squashing dissent as 'hate speech'.

Try saying; "Homosexuality is evil"(let's say in the course of a related conversation, I don't mean walk in and announce it!)....at work. The reactions you'll get will show you just how far gone it is.

>>I loved the 60s;<<

I certainly have fond memories of my teen days in the 1960s, i.e., cruising with friends in my hot rod Ford, going with those same friends to search for the local "Blob", and dating my wife. I also left the Democratic Party in the 1960s but this memory is entertwined with many of the bad memories. The good parts of our past should always overshadow the bad parts but the dark side of the 1960s casts such an overpowering shadow it is inescapable. As much as I would like to feel as good as I felt as a teenager, I will pass going back to the 1960s. Arthritis and hemorroids are preferably.

My DOI Preamble talks about the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, not the rights of an early death, slavery to vice, and the pursuit of unneeded suffering.

The owner of the site you are squatting on has dedicated this forum to preserving the Constitution, not your right not to be saddened by others excersising thier freedom.
