If they want to know who MD4Bush is they need to get with Jim Robinson and the ISP MD4Bush was using when he made his FR posts.

Pardon my ignorance here but even IF the authorities could require J-Ro to reveal the ISP, wouldn't they then have to get the subscriber info from the ISP?

It's my understanding that they are very reluctant to give up that information about their subscribers.

Get a subpoena, they'll give it up, just like Jim would.

RE: Jervis Finney said Friday that he has yet to interview the man whose Web postings under the handle "NCPAC" prompted the story: longtime Ehrlich aide Joseph Steffen. Instead, Finney seems to be focusing his investigation in another direction -- on the reporters covering the story.

Yep, accusatorial tone and implication of "more dirty tricks." These WaPO Reds really are freaking out that we were onto MD4Bush and the numerous other trolls like hounds on a scent. It is completely logical to focus on who MD4Bush is in order to understand the credibility of the accusations against Steffen. Any unbiased reporter would immediately recognize this, and yet, these two are freaking out about it, trying to discredit it. Uh-huh, keep on going ....

Good point. It is also possible, at least in the case of certain papers, that they already know who MD4Bush is.
