I'm pretty certain Bob Woodward himself said "Deep Throat" was a composite of several sources.

I've said this before on FR. 'Deep Throat' was a ficticious character made up by two, liberal reporters.

Stephen Ambrose is no longer around to confirm or deny Burns statements..........

Burns knows that.

IF Burns idea is right....
then the credibility of Woodward and Bstn is finished.

All those sourced.......W and B would have to show that they were credit worthy.

Just points to what has been throught in the past.

That WandB had no real solid info from sources....and got lucky off of the combined to have something come out right.

" If you're going to attribute something to someone who's dead, is that person going to come back and say it's not true? Maybe I'm susceptible to the same charge because I am saying that Stephen Ambrose told me this"

Are they insinuating that Nessie was Deep Throat? How could Nessie fit into the parking garage unnoticed?

Thank you so much for this thread.
I heard Eric Burns promoting his "revelation" one day last week, and I took him very seriously. I know of Stephen Ambrose... the editor I'm not familiar with, but I take Burns' word that she has some renown. this does make sense, doesn't it?

and knowing what lowlife scumbags both Woodward and Bernstein have proven to be, I don't doubt they would relish perpetuating the myth, that over decades, has given them their cribbed cache.

Hmmm. Some of Woodward's other books have also been fictionalized. Remember his deathbed confession from DCI Bill Casey that the hospital and family say couldn't have happened.

Thank you so much for this thread.

You're welcome. I'm glad the mods didn't notice I posted it from a blog and that they left here in News ... where it belongs.
