Get real, we would be fighting the EU army in Iraq right now if they thought they could stand us off.

I hate to break it to you, but in the US military, you can retire after 20 years (as young as 37) and get 50% of your base pay. You max out at 75% after 30 years service, but thats not too far off from the Europeans.
