You said we are ** turning off the masses** by the way we are supporting Terri.
Just exactly, How would you suggest we go about helping Terri? I'm all ears for anything you can tell us that would save Terri from the death sentence she has been given.
Those of us who have been following this case for years now, are getting scared that Judge Greer my have his way and Starve Terri Schiavo to death. It's not venom or rudeness you hear, but horror at what may happen to Terri and her family.
I know in my heart, it's not right. This is about an agenda of euthanasia. The facts in this case do no support this action. Terri is NOT PVS. She is just disabled and brain injured.
Terri can and could have been helped with therapy, which her husband stopped in 1993. Her husband is the last person on this earth who should be her guardian.
You wrote...But keep your flame suit ready - it's not for the faint of heart.
That was cute.. :) I'm new here also. If you want to see real flames, you should do a search on Court TV's boards about Terri Schiavo. I came here to get away from posts that spewed forth absolute propaganda about Terri and her family. I and a few others, were very out numbered. For the most part, I've given up posting there. It literally made me physically sick. :(
I love it here. I've been supporting Terri for years and I know what's happened to her * IS * so wrong. It reminds me of how Hitler used propaganda to convience the German people it was okay to eliminate/kill the disabled and brain damaged. Hitler used Doctors and Nurses to spread his horrible plan and the people fell for it. I will never again wonder how that happened so long ago.
History, in my opinion, is repeating it's ugly self right now, in the state of Florida.
Hey, I totally agree that MS should not be the guardian. He should give up this control to her parents. I have no beef with that. What I mean by hurting the cause is that there is an enormous amount of misinformation posted; especially on FR. I won't say how I know this but it is first hand. As an example, there is an individual posting articles authored by themselves on at least a dozen websites that are involved in promoting Terri's cause. That individual purports to be a medical professional but in my investigation, I have found they may not be licensed in the capacity that they say they are. As a matter of fact, that person could regally be considered bordering on committing a felony in Florida. This is just an example and I am not going into details but I mention this just as an example. Our Lord 'preached' to the people; He did not 'force' His word upon anyone.
And, yes... I am pro-life and have nothing against the spirit of this movement. I just feel that a mob mentality prevails here, feed by a handful of core posters. Mobs rarely make sensible arguments.
You have to allow though that this cuts both ways. I've seen some horrifying arguments and comments for starving Terri here, on FR. I was shocked at the venom.
I don't know about any mis-information coming from Terri's family's supporters. Even if that's true, I've read enough of the REAL THING to convience me, this is definately a hedious situation that needs to be stopped.
You're entitled to call this a mob scene, if you like. However, I find that strange. Since a mob scene is usually associated with people promoting the killing or executing of someone. I find that label to be somewhat or even totally backwards, in this case.
I rather see this as people, who are so horrified by the intentional murder of an innocent disabled woman, doing everything they can to get the facts out to the public before it's to late.
