Removing life support from a patient who is alive is euthanasia by omission. Removing life support after a patient dies is a different matter entirely.
Of course, in Terri's case, she's not on life support. Denying her food and water is the form of euthanasia that's been chosen for her.
Regrettably I don't know enough about the Terry Schiavo case to comment, however I do know that the police have enough evidence in Maria Korp's case to lay charges. The only variable is whether the charge will be murder or attempted murder depending on whether she lives.
Is there any evidence that Terri's husband is responsible for her condition?

There's a lot of circumstantial evidence, plus a bone scan showing Terri has several bones broken over a period of time, consistent with a history of abuse. There are a number of theories as to what caused Terri's collapse, but the most plausible is that her husband choked her, cutting off her breathing for several minutes. I don't think there's enough evidence for a conviction, because the police ended their investigation early on.
Regrettably there lies the difference and I will pray for Terri for justice. I do understand on good authority that in Maria Krop's case, the husbands mistress admitted (wire tapped) to having strangled her.
I just cannot imagine doing that to another human being.
"I just cannot imagine doing that to another human being."
For many days I've quietly followed the Terri Schiavo threads. I've been consistently mystified as some people pour out avalanches of philosophical rationalization that merely obfuscate and avoid the issue - that a human being, who is obviously not in a vegetative state, is subject to being starved to death at the direction of a husband who's actions over many years should arouse the deep suspicions of even a casual observer. And now this thread about the woman in Australia.
While I also cannot imagine "doing that to another human being," the depths of human depravity are, apparently, quite unlimited. In the book "All Quiet on the Western Front" the soldiers are having a discussion asking how the hideous slaughter of World War I can be happening. The oldest of the group, Katczinsky, pipes up: "Man is essentially a beast. He merely butters it over with a little decorum and calls it civilization."
Even more descriptively, the Apostle Paul, quoting other scriptures in Romans 3:10-18, clearly depicts human nature:
"As it is written: 'There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands,no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood;
ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.'"
Says it all. Sigh.
- Knightshadow.
I've come across more people who fight for what's good and right and than those who fight against it. Still, I've come across too many who spit on God's gifts.
I think I've always known that there is evil in the world. I remember a time when I didn't know that it walks so freely among us. I was happier then.
