I always thought nodding off after boinking was due to the release of endorphins , the body's natural, opiate-like pain killer.
They usually get released for "good behavior" type activities, exercise, sex, etc.
Had a talk with a microbiologist sister-in-law a long time ago about how she got sleepy after breast feeding. She concurred.

I'm guessing the effect of endorphins might depend on the amount of histamine release at the same time (whether you get a big flush or not) so the original article might have some validity.
I'm a more of a morning guy. I'll always remember a girlfriend singing a little ditty "Boys just like to have sex in the morning..." after wards, LOL.
After I turned a certain age, taking DHEA before bed kept me a morning guy. I think it's just my natural cycle.
I forget, but I seem to remember reading a study that men's sexual hormones generally peak in the morning, and woman's peak in the evening.
Speaking of peaking, I almost got a woody watching the final jet fight scene from the movie "Top Gun" just now.

Ironically, I have the opposite reaction - I'm positively energetic! When the earth shakes, I'm usually awake for hours afterwards, cleaning, reading, or FReeping!

Viagra is a blue pill....my lame attempt at humor was that when your partner brings about great spirit one has trouble sleeping and no troubles otherwise... ;)
That endorphin thing makes sense to me, not that I know what an endorphin is.
I always fall asleep because the tent in the covers block the TV. I get bored.
