He's been spending like a drunken sailor in the first term. Spending priorities have no included things like the 2000 new border patrol agents the 9/11 package called for.

Just adding a VAT on top of our current regime would be a bad idea, especially since it would likely be a version also replete with compliance costs, but I have already heard at least one congressman mention that very idea.

Replacing the whole mess with a simple, uniform NRST implementation is a great idea.
