With this line:
In the span of more than 40 years with ABC News, Peter Jennings has built one of the most respected reputations in television journalism.
I think this story immediately qualifies as fiction.

"I grant you that there may be a lot of people out there in the country who think they've had these experiences, and some of them may even be unhinged," he said, Helluva concession, Pete.
"but I think even those people deserve a serious hearing from a serious reporter."
Got someone in mind?

Jennings should consult with Dan Rather.
Rumor is that Dan has documents proving the existence of UFOs and that they were really flying in the TANG in the early seventies covering for President Bush.

You can tell that Peter Jennings wrote his own script. No one else could lie like that.

Actually, the government's mistake was in pretending to take it seriously for far too long. They should have shut down the overall UFO investigation in about 1950, once it was clear that UFO reports did not represent a single phenomenon.

UFO's?
Way to build that credibility, Petey!
I think you should include a segment on people who hear things like "Kenneth, what is the frequency?"

"I feel the same way about reporting about UFOs as I feel about reporting on Iraq," Jennings said.
Just watch, the UFO story will morph into a political hit job on Republicans.

It wouldn't hurt to get to the bottom of this issue, but Peter Jennings...
