OK, does anyone know how indepth the vettings are? They have to vet a lot of reporters, I'm assuming, on a temp basis. Enough that it's not worth searching for aliases or even doing a webdomain registry check on every reporter that requests a daypass. My guess is that they only vet to see if a reporter is from a reliable news agency, and then do a good search when he comes through to make sure he isn't packing heat or wearing a bomb.

That's certainly fair, and I don't care what the guy does in his "free" time. But here's my question: What reliable news agency was he from? He apparently had no real credentials as a reporter at all, with the possible exception of some questionable certificate he earned.

Uggh Why did you send us to americablog?

They have gay porn pictures up, supposedly of Gannon from an escort sight.

This is either a really good fake, or Mr. Gannon has an awfully big closet.

The fools actually think that they've found the link between the WH and who leaked Val Plame's silly name to Novak and they've deduced it's Gannon.

Naturally the evidence they base this on is fatally flawed, but that hasn't stopped them from spinning a complex yarn.

Simply more evidence that they're psychotic.

(For those who don't follow such things, the WH had zip zero nada to do with "leaking" Plame's "name")

I'm not one who is befuddled by such and I "get it", however, before one goes charging forth with accusations it's nice to have the facts and not rumor as evidence.

To date, the "evidence" offered by these silly bloggers has been demonstrated false.

Whether Gannon is gay or not I have no idea since nothing trustworthy has been offered. In addition, they did not merely offer evidence of "hypocrisy" (if one is gay they must be an advocate for "gay marriage" or they're a hypocrite? I think not), they have been vicious and nasty.

That is completely different than the intellectual stance you posit.

There are two errors reporters can commit: failing to cover a story, and reporting an untruth. These are two sides of the same bias coin. The MSM ignoring the Swift Boat Vets story and Rather's hit piece are both examples of abusing the public's trust in the news media. Somehow prostitution, even if true, is not on the same level. In short, these accusations do not relate to his being a reporter.

What the DUmmies and the Daily Kos people are working on now is the idea that Gannon was the source of the Dan Rather/Mary Mapes TANG documents.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Sorry, but those pictures are "old news", too. It's not him.

As to who doesn't lie about sex? Plenty of people and for you to cite Clinton approvingly for doing so tells us all we need to know about you.

We know for a fact he was vetted.

Just like Nader's guy who attends these things.

Gannon was not what you say but I note that doesn't stop you from posting in your nasty way.

You should be ashamed (but I'm sure you are not).

Searching for aliases?

You aren't aware Gannon was vetted on his legal name?

I suggest you brush up on the facts before you post anymore. You're embarrassing yourself.

And what is your source for that? Kos?

LOL

What do you deem "real credentials"? What a joke.

Yes, I think the real "scandal", if any, is that the Bush admin let someone in from Talon News.

Why?

Here's a clue, nobody here thinks you share the political bent of Talon News or Free Republic.

Just so you know you're not fooling anyone.

I'm simply saying that people of all statures lie about sex--ESPECIALLY PUBLIC FIGURES

What you said was "Who doesn't lie abou their sexual mores", then you cited Clinton as if that proved some kind of point.

Most people don't lie about it, though I see you're bound and determined to cling to the belief that they do. How pathetic.

You're missing the point. He wasn't a reporter. He had no degree and no background in journalism at all. What was he doing in close proximity to the president? That's all I'm asking.
