I think our best hope is to taint her and beat her in the next election. I'm not at all confident a court is going to boot her out or call for a new election.

I think the best hope isto taint her, have a revote and then tell the country about the Wisconsin, PA and Michigan voter irregularities in Dem districts.
Get the country ready for 06 and 08.

Talmadge said he doesn't believe state law will require Republicans to match every illegal vote with a candidate, despite Democrats' arguments that it should be done that way.
"It's almost impossible to prove how any one of those ballots were cast," Talmadge said. "I have to believe it would be something that doesn't require proof of an elector's vote."
Gosh, do you suppose someone should tell Phil that his rhetoric doesn't match that of Paul Berendt?!!
(Or the other way around?!)

I had lunch with Talmadge a year ago at a rail-related event and found him to be pretty honest. He's independent enough to tell Berendt to go to hell -- which he did when he first declared for governor.

As an outside observor (who spent three years in Seattle back in the 60s) I think there's a real possibility that the election will be overturned. The judges are Democrats, but evidently retain some honesty, or Judge Bridges would have dismissed the whole thing out of hand by now.
Gregoire evidently thinks so too. Her statement does not exactly show much confidence in her victory:
"I'm not looking over my shoulder," she said last week. "I don't know what to look at, to be honest."
That sounds encouraging to me. The very least she should have done was to echo bill clinton: "It's time to move on. I have to be about the people's bidness."

I believe that Judge Bridges will annull the election, and the state supreme court will concur after some agonizing. I believe that Lt. Gov. Brad Owen will be put in charge until a new election for governor this November.
I also believe that the state Democratic Party will heave Gregoire over the side and put their money on Owen (a "Scoop Jackson" Democrat) or Phil Talmadge (a principled ultra-liberal).
But I also believe that Rossi will win in a landslide.

you have to wonder what could be soooo important that the Supreme Court couldn't modify their schedule to expedite the most important thing that has hit the state in decades. The answer is "Politics." Actually if there are lots of demonstrations and the State Supreme Court feels that they need to act quickly they will. As long as there are not people protesting on their steps and editorial page denunciations of the State Supreme Court, they won't "do squat." (That is a legal term, I believe.)

The race was a virtual tie...flipping a coin would be the best solution...they will never find out who "won" unless they have a revote...which won't happen...time for Rossi to be a good loser.

Correct. I bolded the part of the article where the authors went into detail as to what would/could happen.

The saga grinds on. Publius (a good judge of these things) said this is a good summary (I haven't finished reading it yet).

After a lot of thought, emotion, anger and frustration, I am of the strong belief that zip, zero, zilch will happen.
You get the government you vote for. Not enough - bad votes or not - voted for a conservative legislature nor for Dino.
C'est la vie.
