If you go to the Corbon site you'll note that the .45 ammo is noted as .45 Auto and the ACP reference is in parentheses. And if you go the the Remington or Winchester sites you'll see the .45 ammo noted as .45 Auto, not .45ACP. It's akin to saying 9mm Parabellum ammo isn't made anymore as its now labeled 9mm Luger (Winchester & Remington).
Another way to look at it would be that by his reasoning there hasn't been a case of Manic - Depression in twenty years because they now call it Bipolar Disorder. In short, he's arguing a distinction without a difference.

It's one of THE most popular centerfire calibers.
I live near there too--what a big to do--first we heard masked gunmen in black were shooting up the Hudson Valley Mall; people lying in pools of blood, two gunmen still at large--this from the cashier at Mobil who said she got it from a police scanner. Ok, so, I think hmmm..masked gunman in black, black masks, random shooting--could be TROP, right? I throw my kid in the back seat, buckle up, dash home, lock all the doors, where are the shells for this damn thing? and then the story comes out as you described. I am not minimizing it at all, and I pray for the young Guardsman; it just shows you how stories can get out of hand. Especially when given life by the stupid MSM.
It's not in a residential area at all--it's on a state highway running through the outskirts of the city, nothing there but sprawl, mini-malls, etc.
The city of Kingston itself is a sad place--no tax base, no jobs, no industry, except the two hospitals--plenty of unemployed, people on SS, lots of drugs.
It was once a beautiful old city, and you can still see remnants of it in the architecture.
And a grand Freep it was! We had some laughs that day! I live near there as well--went to the mall on Saturday to buy a last minute gift for a kiddie party, but generally stay out of Kingston proper. There are nicer places to shop.

Legally, a machine gun is any firearm that fires more than one round with a single pull of the trigger. That would include submachine guns, machine pistols, assault rifles (IE. M-16/AK-47 (real ones), battle rifles (M-14, G-3, FN/FAL, etc) and the larger crew served or vehicle mounted weapons you are referring to.

One of the nets did a show on the Matthew Shephard case and it wasn't a hate crime after all. He was killed as a result of a robbery. It took the MSM all these years to tell us.
I love reading stories where an "automatic revolver" was used.
Last year my family gathered at a family game center when my sister came to town. It is one of those places with video & pinball, bowling alley, good food and a bar.
Our waitress told us (probably looking for a bigger tip, and yes, she got one) Jeff Foxworthy was in the bowling alley and he was signing autographs.
6 of us headed into the bowling alley--4 kids & 2 adults. I will never, ever forget how gracious Jeff Foxworthy was. He was with a bunch of friends not a PR event & had every right to turn us away or give us an attitude.
From that one experience, I will always have a high opinion of him. He was just a regular guy who happened to be on TV.
BTW-I would not recognize him on the street. He looks the same, but doesn't. I know that does not make sense. He can probably come & go just like anyone of us, because the camera changes his appearance just enough.

Why do you attempt to defend and indefensible position rather than become informed? Cartridge designations are established by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Please contact them and report back.

Do you also get upset when people call dessert gelatin by the trade name "Jello," or when they wipe their nose with a "Kleenex," rather than a tissue?
By the way, I suggest you look into the difference between "de facto" and "de Jure" standards. ANSI is an example of a standardization body that is responsible for De Jure standards, just like the ".45 Auto." However, that does NOT invalidate a de facto standard. These have become "standards" simply by their popularity. A really good example is the way web programmers ignore the de Jure W3C standard and use proprietary IE extensions in their web page design. They do this due to the popularity of IE. IE IS the de facto web browser standard.
