Pb = Lead. The injection part should now be clear.

If I gave the impression I thought you were dumb, then I apologize. Not all of us remember much about the periodic table and just thought a good girl like you deserved an answer. Regards.

"Isn't that a little harsh?"

Might seem harsh to you, a civilized American woman, but to gain some perspective on "harsh", try asking about a million dead Tutsis the meaning of harsh, and if they think harming Kofi would in any way be considered harsh in their minds.

Of course, you can't really ask any dead Tutsis anything and expect an answer.

Explain how he is personally responsible for that. I am not up on that. If you will, please.

"It was a political arrangement, it was a transaction that was intended to force Saddam Hussein to comply with the inspection requirements, disarmament requirements, and, in the process, concessions were also made to him," Annan said.

If he had failed to shape up, Annan was prepared to threaten him with additional concessions.

Annan said he was awaiting the results of the investigation and he expected the full report to show how complex the oil-for-food program was.

Does anyone else see the absurdity in this statement?

"Explain how he is personally responsible for that. I am not up on that. If you will, please."

Kofi Anan was the U.N.'s chief representative in charge of African operations (not sure of his actual title) when trouble was brewing in Tanzania. The Tutsis (read freedom-loving) were being targeted in random acts of violence by the Hutus (read communists) but for a while, there was a U.N. "peace-keeping" force in country. The contingent was not large enough to actually keep the peace throughout the country, but its presence gave the Tutsis a false sense of confidence, therefore most chose simply to stay rather than flee the country. When the violence increased to the point of all-out warfare, the U.N. troops simply pulled out, leaving the two waring factions fighting. It was upon Kofi Anan's order that the troops were withdrawn leaving close to a million Tutsis to be slaughtered in the streets. Rivers ran red with blood, and were choked with the floating dead bodies of the victims.

No, he did not personally hack off anyone's head with a machete himself, but when he might have done something to help prevent the massacre, he did just the opposite, namely; enabling it.

My God, and he has the gall to say that we need to do something to help now! The UN is not only a mess, it is worthless. The President is right, just have coalitions of countries who are ready to help in world situations.
