I am uncomfortable with leaving the station with blind faith with one twitchy engineer and no one but the candidate for Lt. Governor as a backup!

I appreciate your concerns and I honestly believe most delegates would be delighted to have a field of five well-qualified candidates vying for the position -- a nice problem to have, but not one the Republican Party in CA has right now.

You still haven't answered logically to a single thing I have presented. List me logical answers to the following things and I'll stop: 1. How could McClintock have won with Arnold in the race? 2. Why should Arnold have dropped out when he was polling 3X what McClintock was on a bad day? ("McClintock has better policies is NOT an acceptable answer) 3. Which of the grievences you listed would NOT have happened under a Davis/Bustamante Governorship? 4. Why don't you like the fact that Arnold cut the car tax? Vetoed illegal drivers licences? Fixed workman's comp? Is pushing for non-government retired accounts? Pushing for redistricting? And a hundred other things he has either stopped or passed? 5. If you can't answer all of the above, then why won't you admit that you would rather watch California run over a cliff then have Arnold as Governor? Just admit it! I like how you spend the end of your post attacking Arnold because he's rich too. Funny thing, I hear a lot of people around this country attacking others because they are rich...

You really like to just keep coming back for more, I pose a reasonable question and then you send me a list of them.

I think I have been pretty clear in previous responses, I don't think you like anything I say because you just want to act like you have a clue yourself.

Maybe if you and some others were a bit more honest with yourselves and not ready to swallow the bait hook line and sinker, you'd realize how silly you are trying to string this out.

every measure that arnie rolled back was headed the same direction regardless if Tom or he won.

all arnie had was a Q factor and no other answers, he sure didn't know how to use a veto pen.

he hobnobs with rich so that comment is fair game, Do you ask yourself why he runs with the bilderberg crowd and was vetted by them after having warren Buffett take him to their gathering as the recall effort began.

you mind is so narrowly focussed on plugging me, you are unable to accept anything I or anyone else has offered.
Now, where's the logic in that?

You want me to give him credit, fine, he sure ran up a lot of debt even if he "rescinded' the car tax, whoopie, it was doa anyway or the next gub would have been recalled as well.

the rest of your diatribe I have already answered previously.

ps .. california has already gone over the cliff, arnie just bought a few months when he cajoled folks into borrowing 15 billion more to keep the fet from being seen for what it really was. how special was that?

How could McClintock have won with Arnold in the race?

He couldn't and that was the point of arnie entering the race, To keep a conservative from winning. he has certainly done little to show he has any purity in his agenda to date that aligns itself with conservatism.

His support for redistricting efforts before were sadly absent, he is an opportunist, nothing more.

It's all about him, much like your attempts here to corner me , in the end you do the conservative agenda little good if any and show how illogical your own quest is.

Again, if Tom had dropped, the recall would hae likely failed and arnie could have gotten 80% of the vote and still been a loser. You don't like hearing that tho, that doesn't seem logical that arnie could lose huh, especially when he had so much help from folks like yourself stacking the deck.

Good night.

I don't agree with most of his policies. As long as there are no tax increases and he goes through with his vow to starve the monster that feeds the government-social services complex, I will be more than satisfied. The problem isn't revenue; its too much spending.

>>I don't agree with most of his policies. As long as there are no tax increases and he goes through with his vow to starve the monster that feeds the government-social services complex, I will be more than satisfied.

What do you consider a tax increase? Are you limiting your evaluation to sales tax, property tax and income tax alone?

Are you aware that he has proposed pushing hundreds of millions of dollars of obligations (teachers pension cost) to the local level , without providing any of the corresponding revenue? Those localities will be forced into increasing taxes, because that is the budget Arnold proposed. And revenue historically used to pay these costs will be spent out of the General Fund on other social programs.

What about toll-roads? While he continues to raid the transportation fund, despite Proposition 42, he is now going to promote toll roads? Isn't that just another tax?

How about borrowing? The $15 Billion in borrowing ($30 billion including debt service) will be paid out of taxes, and by issuing the bonds will most probably require tax increases in the long run to pay it off. If we weren't having to carry all that debt, maybe there would be more money to pay for the transportation infrastructure that is sorely needed (without tax increases or toll roads).

Okay, you say the $15 Billion is behind us. Well, Arnold is proposing roughly another $10 Billion in debt in his "Spending Control" measure. Yet he sold the $15 Billion in bonds with a promise of "cutting up the credit cards."

He also proposed borrowing another Billion or so to make pension contributions. He has not been successful, as it is held up in court as violating the constitution.

And then there is the tribal gaming borrowing. With great fanfare, he announced his $1 billion deal with the tribes. Of course, the $1 Billion comes from borrowing. That also is held up in the courts. Oh yeah, and he said he'd bring in $300 million from the tribes last year under the other compact arrangements. How much did he actually bring in? Just $16 million. Ooops.

With regard to actions to "starve the monster", I have seen none. He has the power of line item veto, but has failed to use it. He has proposed the highest spending levels of all time. This is far from starvation; he is feeding the monster.

You are correct that the problem is spending, not revenue. But Arnold continues to spend, banking on the possibility that revenue growth will ultimately be adequate to fund continued out of control spending. And in the interim, he just keeps borrowing and finding ways to *tax* more. Toll roads are a tax. Forcing localities into absorbing prior state expenditures is a tax. Getting more money from tribes is a tax.

So, are you really "satisfied"?

Considering reality only, what are the odds of Tom McClintock actually managing to win a frickin' general election?
