This stuff outrages my 80-year-old conservative mother (as much as it does you and me). She insists she neither expects nor wants anyone else to pay for her medical or pharmaceutical needs. Of course, she's one who never built her life around having the nanny state provide her every need. Rather, she and my father saved and invested and planned for their senior years - all by themselves. What a concept.
Lighten up. Does the word "hyperbole" mean anything to you?
Expired ; - )
Take it easy. This isn't DU.
This and all the $$$ for Tsunami relief on top of a war. I don't like this and I do like Bush. Whom should we write about this?
That was my thought, where are mod's when you need them?
You can always ping one.
Quite frankly I don't beleive there are that many wealthy seniors BUT then again there aren't that many poor seniors who will supposedly benefit from this program.
Most seniors will agree that its a massive waste of money. They really did not want this program.
The other thing is that medicare isn't just for seniors there are disabled on medicare so we need to quit blaming everything on seniors.
I love GWB but this whole prescription drug thing tests my patience.
I realize that seniors are often in dire straights over their medications, but for chrissakes, what's going to happen when I'M 65? Plus, this is the wealthiest demographic in the country.
I realize they are the "greatest" generation and I admire them for that, but they are also the generation that helped get us in this welfare state in the first place.
Nothing to apologize for....
Most of us love or like Dubya Bush the man and the job he's done regarding handling the UN, and wars in Afghanistan and Iraqi...
However the guy is absolutely killin' us domestically with his socialist-like spending, and his Mexican border-less security and his encouraging migrant illegalism.
I think Bush has threatened vetos before. It's just that he's never actually vetoed a bill.
