And this coming soon after a related article in the Globe:

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2005/02/05/official_chides_christian_right

Liberalism is coming in through the backdoor. Out goes "environmentalism". In comes "creation care". Change the terms but the policies are still the same.

This is pure unadulterated Bravo Sierra. A few very liberal people may buy this...but by far and away the vast majority of Christian conservatives recognize this for the bilge it is.

The magazine came out in favor of a global warming bill - sponsored by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn. - that the Bush administration opposed and the Republican-controlled Senate defeated.

I always find it amusing when some reporter discovers thinking and debate going on in the conservative community. They act like it is the first time they've ever heard of such a thing.

Most people on the right care about the environment. We are called conservationists. Instead of whining and complaining to the government, if we see trash, we pick it up. Conservationists are not in the business of political lobbying, we just act to take care of the environment around us. If everyone did this, the environmentalists wouldn't have anything to whine about.

And what exactly is this "Christianity Today" magizine? Somehow the Washington Post takes one example as proof of how all Christians should think. The Post lives in its little bubble.

Christianity Today has not been the voice of evangelicals for some time. They're entitled to their opinions, but they don't represent me.

The Washington Post will next have a report on the Christian Right and how they are embracing Darwinism, abortion, homosexuality, and socialist atheism.

It is not only Christianity Today. But the NAE seems to be losing their bearings as the Globe article I reference indicates.

There very clearly is a need for Christians to believe in stewardship, but I don't support govt. policies that would hurt the economy, such as Kyoto etc.

The article is significantly off-base. Today's "environmental" movement is a neo-pagan persuasion that exalts non-human creatures above human beings, and advocates ridiculously restrictive regulations on the human economy in the name of savings non-human species that often aren't even in danger. Honest, faith-literate evangelicals are not going to have much temptation to join up with today's "environmental" movement.

If you hear a thumping sound off in the distance. It's me banging my head on the desk over these people complete lack of willingness to research such an important issue before jumping in to support it.

When the noise stopps it will likely because someone filed a noise polution complaint.

Our climate may very well be warming. However, there's really no evidence that human beings actions are having a significant effect on that.

The climate has been much warmer in past history, long before the industrial revolution, than it is currently.

From what I've seen, there's little real reason to believe that our greenhouse gas emmissions are what is causing global warming, or that the reduction of such emmissions will have any discernable effect.

People get all caught up in the stories of what an increase in the average global temperature change could do. They then decide to get involved with efforts that are claiming that preventing global warming is their goal, without really investigating if their methods have any real hope of combatting global warming.

The earth is a self sustaining, self correcting system. The system has gone through and will go through some considerable variations over time. Regardless of what mankind does, there is likely sometime in the future going to be a period where the climate is much warmer. There is also in the distant future likely to be another ice age.

Before we jump into destroying our economy, we should investigate the facts. The vast majority of greenhouse gasses are produced by natural causes such as volcanos. The environment has been processing those gasses since well before man was producing such "pollution".

Pollution can and does have a localized effect. However, that's far different than a global effect.

The models they are using to predict this disaster of global warming aren't even releable at predicting local climate changes, and are horribly inaccurate at predicting long term climate changes.

What do they do when they get strange results from their models that produce results they don't like? They throw them out and change the model. When they get results where the model predicts what they expect, they say they've shown evidence that we are causing global warming.

Amusing AND amazing. Global warming? I got yer global warming right here!:

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night:in the which the heavens shall passs away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with a fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are threin shall be burned up.

Seems like Christians have known about global warming for CENTURIES!

Okay I read that Globe article. It sounds like they cherry-picked the interview to get the story they wanted to highlight about the big bad racist evangelicals who do not see the wonderful wisdom of liberalism versus the other evangelicals who do. I don't know who that Wentz guy is, but he certainly is not representative of the whole. That story went only where that reporter wanted it to go. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Liberal alleged "Christians" are liberals, plain and simple. In this segment (hopefully a very small overall percentage) you can find so-called Christians that are "pro choice" and tolerant of homosexual "ministers" and agenda and the whole Left Wing, socialist liberal package, generally speaking.

If they hook up with the radical environmentalists, GAIA hypothesizers, "The Earth Is Your Mother" /Mother Earth and lesbian & homo types and the entire hippie hangovers from a stale and thankfully bygone era, they will reveal themselves to be the liberal activists that they really are.

Their "god" is liberalism and they know it. I hope that the liberal, left win political Trojan horse form of alleged "Christianity" dies a natural death and never returns.
