Gee - anyone think they will do an "expose" on Molly or Maureen? How about Helen Thomas?

The tactics you point out have been used by the left against us for decades. I agree that they are more intense, and the results are getting out faster, but that's true of everything.

The silver lining here is that it is those very tactics that has enabled us to make the gains we've made. Purification by fire, I guess you could call it.

I don't dispute the fact that many on our side are targeted unfairly. I also think we need to strongly protest what they are doing.

For the past 40 or 50 years the left hasn't had any of the stuff they're dishing out, and look how fat and flabby they are and how they are detested in society.

Here is the question that Jeff Gannon asked at the White House Press conference, which prompted the liberals to go after him:

"Senate Democratic leaders have painted a very bleak picture of the US economy. Harry Reid was talking about soup lines, and Hillary Clinton was talking about the economy being on the verge of collapse. Yet, in the same breath, they say that Social Security is rock solid and there's no crisis there. How are you going to work -- you said you're going to reach out to these people -- how are you going to work with people who seem to have divorced themselves from reality?"

I was aware of the question, and I understand how it drove the libs crazy. Not that they had far to go.

The part I'm just not understanding is why he quit.It would seem that he could just tough it out.

I don't understand why the Republican owner of Talon News gave the lefties this victory. After all, wasn't Jeff Gannon doing a good job? Why did he have to leave -- Talon News writes his paycheck, not Kos.

Why have all of Gannon's past articles been taken off of Talon News' site?

Even if the leftie blogs reports of Gannon's link to web sites like HotMilitaryStuds.com were true --and we haven't heard Gannon's reply -- why act in a matter suggesting there's something to hide? In these cases, it's often better to give a Clintonian grin and ask "what's wrong with that?" rather than to acknowledge that an enemy has the right to criticize --or to act as if their criticism is justified.

It's good for the news to be presented from a conservative viewpoint. Without Jeff at the White House Press briefings, we are unlikely to hear questions that allow President Bush to fully explain his positions. The problems with gay marriage, for example.
Or how the President's tax cuts have supported the growth of entrepreneurial Internet businesses. Nor are we likely to hear about how the President plans to create new jobs for soldiers in the Reserve as they return from Iraqi deployments.

This is quite interesting. a major newspaper (an fellow travelers) spend their time trying to suppress any view other than their own. shut down discussion of their sloppy and misleading articles, and engage in legal terrorism. The 5th estate has become the 5th column.

I smell a rat. A fake news agency with White House press credentials somehow gets a hold of top secret documents which publicly expose the identity of a CIA operative, who happens to be married to a critic of the administration. I'll wager a bleacher seat to an Orioles-Devil Rays game (real-world value $0.50) that this "news agency" was the source of the Texas Air National Guard papers to Rather and his fellow stooges.

The immediate problem started about 3 decades ago when Don Graham "went over" in Viet Nam.

How about this ~ that Dan Rather was the source of the information on the news site in question, as well as the Texas Air National Guard issue.

Further, he has a small army of volunteer anti-American, knee-jerk, robot-like, left-wing Liberals helping him to stir the pot.

You wouldn't know anything about that would you?

"You wouldn't know anything about that would you?"

Bravo -- an excellent example of Stalinist tactics. Sorry, I believe in principles, not men. Why should I be afraid to criticize a group when it appears they may have acted improperly or speculate that the story may go deeper? But I guess in your opinion, anyone who questions the Party line cannot be a right-thinking member of society, but must be a clandestine member of a subversive anti-state cell dedicated to bringing down the government at any cost. Molotov would be proud of you.
