This is really intersting considering the max you can serve in Mexico for murder is 40 years. They have for years criticized the U.S. death penatly.
I would prefer to die then to send any time in a Mexican prison..........yucky
Looks like Mexico has a serial mutilator/killer on its hands. Hopefully this lady will live to give a description.
Wouldn't a person bleed to death within an hour or less, after having their hands cut-off, and get no medical care? There are some veins and arteries which could bleed-out and weaken the victim.
we have to remember that our own softy judicial system let a man who cut off the arms of a young woman about 7 yrs in prison before release, ultimately to murder another woman while a free man.......
Actually, I believe that there is a travel advisory to the border towns (especially Reynosa). I have been involved in medical missions trips to colonias in Reynosa and Rio Bravo. The group's trip last weekend was canceled due to some kind of disturbance with the federales in Reynosa.
That's pretty much the equivalent of life w/o parole here. I don't think many make it the full 40 years in Mexican prisons.
Was that the guy in Calif. executed last year (sorry, can't remember his name)?
She may indeed, but don't expect her to applaud.
Southern Border Ping!
Yeah, that was in California during the reign of error of Chief Justice Rose Bird ( I think) . I can't remember the guys name. But basically the girl lived to point her stumps at him and say "He did it". There were practically riots to keep the guy in prison but to no avail.
I'm not an expert on this, but I think (sometimes) the bloodvessels clamp down to slow blood loss.
I'm not a Dr., but I do drive by 2 Holiday Inns everyday.
Stories like this make me ill (really, no joke). Poor woman.
I would say so.
I worked as a LEO in West Texas and it is not widelyt published for political reasons that there has been numerous serial style murders ( I have heard the term epidemic rate used ) in Juarez and other border towns on top of the already numerous usual style murders.
There has also been a jump in kidnappings of caucasion females. This was a major factor in my relocating so I took my 2 pre-teen daughters and vamanosed.
Blood volume lost depends on the method used to sever the extremity. A sharp clean cut will bleed most, using something like an axe or hatchet will crush a lot of vessels closed.
You are right, but it was more like 25-30 years ago.
(Time flies when you're... etc.)
Thanks for those explanations; it makes a little more sense now.
Man, that's COLD! I was thinking about how hard it would be to climb a border fence, but would never SAY it.
