I think the letter just got the citation wrong. They said it twice. And the point is, a congresswoman' office ran the letter as the basis of a press release without doing any fact-checking on the letter.

Thomas is hard on all the presidents, Clintoon too.
If reporters aren't going to ask presidents hard questions, then who are? I want liberal presidents to get grilled the same way Mr. Bush does, so I say, "bring it on." He can handle it, can't he? He's handled them so far.

When did Gannon first become a member of the WHPC?
What is involved in joining the WHPC?
Does anyone know?

I'm glad you captured those articles. I need to make dinner and give this all some thought.
Does anyone know -- the other web site that Talon News is said to have ties with -- GOPUSA -- is that still publishing as of today?

When did Gannon first become a member of the WHPC? What is involved in joining the WHPC? Does anyone know? Gannon first attempted to get credentials in April 2004, but was denied by the committee that distributes the so-called "hard passes," or permanent press passes, which would have given him access to the White House. Instead, Gannon had to get daily White House passes, which are not handled by the committee.
I find it amazing, considering his lack of credentials, that he was ever called on to ask a question

I find it amazing, considering his lack of credentials, that he was ever called on to ask a question...And what the heck do credentials have to do with it? That Niagara rag's city hall reporter was a punk rocker, for pete's sake. Dan Rather has credentials. So does Eason Jordan I imagine. And I'm sure Jayson Blair did, too. I'll settle for unbiased, accurate, and complete reporting. I could give a rat's patootie about credentials if I get those three things.
