That was taken earlier today -- and he's going to be 61 in less than a month. :D
Kenney wasn't an original member of the band.
Actually, he was never a headbanger. :)
Thank you for the pics!
I've seen them 7 times since 1980, the last of which was the 2002 tour right after John died. I was too young to see them when they still had Keith. I don't have an I-pod but have have many their CD's and old vinyl.
They are my favorite. Such high energy!
Oh, it's been my pleasure! ;D
Actually, you can find a whole treasure trove of pics and old articles at http://kathy.hispeed.com
Hope I die before I get old...
I've bought most of their albums on vinyl, cassette *and* CD.
I was too young to see them before they "broke up" in 1983, and then circumstances kept me from and seeing them in concert until '02.
It didn't say in the article "original" member.
The 60-year-old lead singer said ..... He looks better at 60 than I do at 38. Especially the partying he has seen in his life.
True, but Jones was only a member for a few years -- and for 2 of their weakest albums.
Is Kenny Jones dead?
Shhhh. Kenny never happened. Kenny who? Never heard of him.
Actually, what I think happened is that Daltry, Townshend, and Entwistle realized that it was absurd to give Jones a quarter of any touring money, when they could just drop him, hire a competent non-band-member drummer, and pay him a salary rather than a percentage. They figured nobody would even care, and they were right.
After all, nobody was going to be Moon anyway.
No, but for the big bands yr not a member automatically. From Stephen Davis' book on the Stones, "Old Gods Almost Dead", "Mick Jagger formally announced in late November 1993 that Bill Wyman had left the Rolling Stones, which would continue with four principal members 'and a cacophany of bass players.' Around that time, Ron Wood was finally made a junior member of the Rolling Stones, with a percentage. He'd been on salary since 1976."
"Live at Leeds" is still the Who's best album.
I have that on vinyl...It is awesome!
At least you got to see them. I feel like popping in the Quadrapenia disc!
My updated tagline would have been fun to sing to the protestor critters at the inaguration parade.
Magic Bus!
The last time I saw them, they had Ringo's son playing drums for them.
That is their best version of Magic Bus.
Yeah, Zach Starkey. He's the perfect guy for them too - very competent drummer, he's got some celebrity, and he probably doesn't give a rat's ass what they pay him, since he was born to a boatload of Beatle money.
