The Doobie Brothers was the first concert I ever attended back in '73 and to this day, their music performed live sounded closest to the album recordings, then of any band I've seen. incidentally, they're back-up band that night was some new unknown group named Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Bummer. HD-Net has been running a recent DB concert for the past month or so; I've watched it two or three times. Fabulous show and a great hi-def production, too.

The first time I heard Michael's voice was on Cristopher Cross' "Ride like the wind"....he sings backup, circa 1978.
I thought at the time, "what a different sounding voice"...
