That's right. I actually WANT a bigger one. I wish they made a cell phone in the same shape as the handset of old style "cradle" phones.

They wouldn't be for everyone, but for those of us who use it only at home or in the truck it would be great.

I would like a bigger phone, too, for my full time phone. A second, smaller one is okay for off-hours when you need something easy to tote along.

Some of the new phones are so small if they don't have a voice command, guys have to use a pen or stylus to input the numbers.

My 22 year old son actually has one of those that he carries around once in a while as a joke.

The brick was quite an improvement over the "boat anchor".

Heh, I thought I was the only one with the idea of coming up with a retro style cellphone with a rotary dial. B-) Actually the very early car cellphones that were experimental had a rotary dial, I saw a picture of one in a 1973 "Motor Trend" magazine.

Ohhh...there were some big 'uns alright.

The "portable" that Radio Shack sold that was Nokia's first cell phone. A mere 11 lbs.

Then Oki had a portable too that came in at a svelt 8 lbs.

Panasonic got into it as well with their own portable. Their's was only 6 lbs. These all included a battery of course.

Then came the "bag phones" that could be powered by a cigarette lighter in the car. But by then Motorola came out with the series 8000 and the truly portable phone wasn't far behind. They introduced the Micro Tac "flip" phone only after the full evolution of the 8000 series had pared it down to under 1 lb. That one was called the "Ultra Classic".

The Micro Tac flip phone was a Godsend at only 8 ounces...a mere half pound! Imagine that! And for only a paltry $1295.00!

My how times have changed.

I wear X-Large or XX-Large gloves. Those itsy bitsy phones are beyond my use of them.

My father-in-law has very arthritic hands (knuckles are bent). While he's not likely to use a cell phone, he could really use a computer keyboard with bigger keys for the letters/numbers. Anybody out there know of one?

Not...there are THOUSANDS of people offering handicapped keyboards!! All you have to do search on "handicapped keyboards." If you want me to help you search...FReepmail me and I'll talk you through it. He may even want to try some voice recognition stuff...it's all out there.

I hate my cell phone. I don't want to play games, hear music, program screen savers, or anything else on it. I just want to make a phone call! And the number keys are too small and I am constantly having to abort phone calls because I have dialed incorrectly.

About 8 years ago we had a car phone with normal sized number keys. Now we have these stupid little phones that I have trouble with. And I can't hear the darn thing ring when I have the radio on in the car. And I cannot figure out how to check my voice mail, which I didn't even want to begin with!! And I hate how you feel like you are going to drop the thing all the time you are using it!!!!

I HATE IT!!! The only reason I keep it is for emergencies when I am in the car. And I will bet that if I DO have an emergency, I probably won't be able to dial 911 correctly!!!

Over the river and through the woods, like Grandmother use to drive!

My grandmother, in full powder, hat, veil, mink or fox biting tails, and black killer heels (Teetering at close to 250 lbs) used to AIM the car.
