That's for sure. I watched Ray Lewis in a couple games this year.
He made the Pro Bowl on name recognition only.
Fittingly, Brushi is his replacement.

I think you're right about the Bears.
They had no longevity, but for one year they were the best.

What's that saying? "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...?" The point is yes, the Patriots do have a lot of free agents on their team, not just their defense. You can't put a premium on team chemistry, "If we didn't have this guy we'd have that guy..." It doesn't wash.
The Patriots are one of the greatest teams of all time, but the best? That's the glory of debate.

I firmly believe that Ray Lewis is both the best LB and the most overrated at the same time. You'd think that he floats over the field casting lightning bolts at the offense if you listen to ESPN for too long.

And the debate will have changed about 10pm tonite. I don't see them losing this game. 35-12 Pats.

Gale Sayers, Jim Brown, Ray Nitscke and Dick Butkus would be superstars on today's football field.

Jim Brown I think was the best back ever. People who don't think so should watch his old highlight reels.

I remember that. That was good.

Best defense ever? Bears 85-86 under Buddy Ryan.Uh, Bud Man was the Bears' DC in '85. In '86 he became the Eagles' head coach.

I say 86 because the superbowl happened in 86 if I can recall. Wasn't referring to the season, my mistake.
