The MSM and our elected "alleged/supposed" political leaders(?) never get around to informing the public about the other set of books they keep called a 'CAFR'.....Comprehensive Annual Fin'l Report. These are the true set of figures (vs. budgets) that are calculated at the end of the accounting period and from every indication they contain massive amounts of $ that accumulate yr. after yr. because invariably most public entities receive far more $ than originally budgeted. "Mr. Bush will propose that overall domestic spending, aside from entitlements, grows less than the rate of inflation next year" The part in bold is what's wrong with this picture.
