All that said, I *can* fathom that she might have wanted to be a visible part of the administration in some prestigious post .. that's possible. But, having read so many of her pieces and getting some insight into her general makeup and deeply religious nature, I never sensed pettiness, snarkiness or retribution in her. Odd as it would be given her experience, it could be external input messing up her perspective, and uncharacteristic behavior can also sometimes be attributable to medication. So, because I've held her in such high regard, I guess I'm still troubled and curious.
"Hey there, SEN! Good to see that you're posting! WELCOME to the Dose! :o)"
Well, thank you. I feel like I "know" everybody from my lurking days. Now, shall I tell Snugs about the time I saw Cheney in person and got to shake his hand and exchange a few words? :)
She seems a bit old to be living out the demanding life of a presidential speechwriter on a regular basis; it seems most of the regular speechwriters have to have enormous stamina, which she has said; but I could see her wanting to be a speechwriting part of this administration in some sort of ad hoc capacity.
In any case, I don't know what sent her round the bend. I would like to know, and sooner rather than later. For whatever personal demons she may be struggling with, she has a huge bully pulpit and she is undercutting the cause she has stood for.
She is dissing her base and how long can a writer do that and succeed?
(I got a chance to shake his hand and say "THANK you" myself).
I posted the 'major' info in post 317. She wants to go to Westmont College in Santa Barbara. It's on the coast and has excellent surfing. haha. Her father graduated from University of Utah - the skiing was excellent. See a pattern here? :o)
