What a brilliant analysis of the material on this post. Can I have your autograph, professor?

independence
What does signing a treaty do if not place restrictions on our "independence" and "freedoms" to do as we wish?
Where do you think gun control comes from? Read the UN Charter before you continue.

Your observations are right on the money. I think there is a lot of subversion going on in this forum right now. Fortunately FReepers are armed with cogent reasoning and the truth.
Nice self-parody.

Anyone with children or grandchildren, or even the hope of having them should repudiate the UN, Agenda 21 and all its global socialist tentacles. Because even if you're gone, the legacy you will be leaving will devastate what was once the most free and most blessed country on earth.
I for one want to leave our progeny with something better than life under the jackboot of worldwide centrally managed socialism.

How you doing, hedgetrimmer. Here's a court decision from your neck of the woods that people might be interested in -
Should government ever take natural resources from private property, landowners now have ammunition to demand payment.
In this precedent-setting case, the Court of Federal Claims ruled that four California water districts must pay $16.7 million to farmers for water the government took for fish.
The case arose after the federal government withheld billions of gallons of water from California farmers and diverted it to protect winter-run chinook salmon between 1992 and 1994.
Senior Judge John Wiese ruled in December 2003 that the governments halting of water constituted a taking or intrusion on the farmers private property rights. This latest ruling set the price for that taking. The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution prohibits the government from taking private property without fair payment.
So-called environmentalists are steamed because now taxpayers will get a bill every time private property is taken for their questionable pet projects. In other words, property theft now comes at a price, as it should.

I'm fairly new..I agree with hedgetrimmer.
It appears something has been afoot for 30 years or so and a few of us are just hearing about it.

I'll be saying to my local militia leader: "Locked and loaded and ready for combat, SIR..."
Stock up on your ammo, now! I don't believe black helicopter crap like this, but there's absolutely no reason to discredit it. Every movie I can think of that falls in the future shows a "Unified Earth Initiative" type government.
Also, isn't there a UN mandate on the docket this year for a worldwide ban on small arms? What happened to the Constitution of the United States? Thank GOD for W!

Have you even asked yourself why presummably sane Americans would elect federal representatives who are members of the DEMOCRAT SOCIALIST (formerly COMMUNIST) PARTY ..??
I guess that might explain why agreements are made with organizations which support Communism and Socialism.
That answers (a) (b) and (c)
(d) they're communists or socialists - who lie for a living
(e) President Clinton has a DEMOCRAT COMMUNIST for a wife
(f) We are the RICHEST COUNTRY ON THE EARTH
(g) Since Senator McCain supported John Kerry - I would never call him a "patriot" - for America anyway. And .. President Bush DOESN'T WRITE LEGISLATION - THE CONGRESS DOES .. whine to them.
(h) The conservative movement in this country - proves that we are no longer walking in that direction. But .. everything cannot be undone overnight.
And .. I beg to differ with you .. we are NOT "dissolving our sovereignty" - not by a long shot.
I do not support the Law of the Sea Treaty - not at all. But the American public does not get to vote on this. If you want to rant and scream - you need to be sending this info to the people who will get to vote - the Congress!!

You're correct .. and that's why it's so important that Hillary never be allowed to be president and Bill never be allowed to be Secy Genl of the UN.

From the UN overview document:
A) Empowering communities
3.7. Sustainable development must be achieved at every level of society. Peoples' organizations, women's groups and non-governmental organizations are important sources of innovation and action at the local level and have a strong interest and proven ability to promote sustainable livelihoods. Governments, in cooperation with appropriate international and non-governmental organizations, should support a community-driven approach to sustainability, which would include, inter alia:
(a) Empowering women through full participation in decision-making;
(b) Respecting the cultural integrity and the rights of indigenous people and their communities;
OK, given that points (a) and (b) are in direct conflict with each other in most poor countries, just how does the author of this document expect these things to occur?

Also, isn't there a UN mandate on the docket this year for a worldwide ban on small arms? What happened to the Constitution of the United States? Thank GOD for W!
UN pressed to adopt treaty on global gun tracing Arms control activists urged U.N. treaty writers on Monday to approve a system for tracking small arms sales around the world, saying it was easier to track lost airline luggage than a machine gun.
Amnesty International, Oxfam International and the International Action Network on Small Arms called for a legally binding global marking and tracing treaty covering small arms and ammunition at the start of a two-week U.N. conference weighing how to deal with the problem.
"A piece of lost luggage can be traced from San Francisco to Sierra Leone within hours, yet deadly weapons disappear without trace on a daily basis," said Jeremy Hobbs, the director of Oxfam International.
A report by the three groups found that while weapons and ammunition often carry serial numbers, there is no worldwide system to record the information and make it available worldwide.
Nor are arms brokers -- middlemen who arrange arms sales across borders, putting them beyond the reach of most national governments -- required to register and report on their dealings in most countries.
That renders serial numbers "useless as a tool to identify, locate and trace illegal arms shipments," the groups said.
A worldwide marking and tracing mechanism would help enforce arms embargoes and identify international brokers who violated national or international laws, ultimately saving lives, they said.

Ever see the show "Real TV"? It's a reality TV show. Leading off today, a dead-of-night drug raid in Britain where the bobbies found not even close to enough suspected pot and coke to fill a small hefty bag. Of course, the JBT's were proud and happy and boastful about busting up the front door, waste pipes, cabinetry and such, with his wife and baby in the middle of the maelstrom. Just in case you thought that was just a Janet Reno fetish.
Follow this up with some 'impartial' coverage of the heroic Greenpeace trying to interfere with a U.S. Navy exercise, as narrated by the whale-huggers themselves. Watch the fearless battlers for the environment against the mean old military and their water cannons.
Agenda? What agenda?

I'm confident the World Court would overturn that decision, given the chance.
