I believe some arm twisting from the American government, say, Ms. Rice opening a can of Whoop Arse on the IRA, will assist matters.

This new 'way' no doubt orchestrated by Teddy Kennedy.

British Propaganda! You might want to run that expletive by the Irish Taoseach, who happens to agree with Blair. It is both the British and Irish governments who have told the IRA to stop it.
Britain has stood with America from the beginning. The IRA published a criticism of America the day after September 11th. One wonders why the IRA has any defenders left in the United States - they're terrorist scum.

"DUP leader the Rev Ian Paisley said the IRA statement would be treated with contempt by all right thinking people."
Ian Paisley should be treated with contempt by thinking people.
"All right thinking people" sounds like sheeple thinking HIS way.

I never understood all the hype and the feather in Mr. No-Pants President's hat when he claimed to have brokered the peace in Ireland. I never knew how Blair stood for Mr. No-Pants President's arrogant claim and all the while those guys NEVER de commissioned. Here we are... again.... Why doesn't someone 'interview' Mr. No-Pants President? Shove a mike in HIS face and ask him to account for his sham claim! It is bogus, just like everything ever touted to us or the world about Mr. No-Pants in a transparent effort to establish his 'legacy'!!!

"All right thinking people" sounds like sheeple thinking HIS way.In this instance, Rev. Paisley happens to be correct. If the Democrats orchestrated a bank robbery in order to fund their activities, you'd be howling blue murder, and rightfully so.

I never knew how Blair stood for Mr. No-Pants President's arrogant claim and all the while those guys NEVER de commissionedIt was said on the television this morning that in order to try and keep the peace process going, Blair has turned a blind eye to the IRA's racketeering and other criminal activities (for example, they are responsible for much of the counterfeit videos sold in this country). He's finally had enough with this bank robbery.
It is reasonable to assume that if he could turn a blind eye to the IRA's criminality, ignoring Clinton's grandstanding was a piece of cake in comparison.

Ms. Rice opening a can of Whoop Arse on the IRA That would be a pleasant change - involvement of a government official that extended beyond attending a Sinn Fein fund-raiser in Boston ...

I don't trust Rev Paisley.
Not any more than I do Teddy Kennedy to protect my 2nd Amendment rights.

I don't trust Rev Paisley.I'm not asking you to trust him. However he is correct in this instance. Something which you have failed to deny.
When both the Irish and British governments speak with one voice on a matter such as this, it is time to sit up and take notice.

Since you and MadIvan both fly The Union Jack on your home pages.
I assume you are "right thinking people", as defined by the Rev Ian Paisley.

I assume you are "right thinking people", as defined by the Rev Ian Paisley. You are persisting in willful ignorance. The IRA robbed a bank. It's not just Paisley that says so - the British and Irish governments say so.
If you want to be stupid and buy IRA propaganda, feel free. But don't confuse the right to be a jackass with being "right".

I don't trust Jerry Adams and more or less than I do Ian Paisley.
I will protect my home and family under the flag of The United States.
You can protect your loved ones any way you see fit under The Union Jack.

Irish Catholic Americans, like myself, think the IRA splinter groups are a disgrace. They are Marxist. The terrorist activities of blowing up old men in fishing boats and killing civilians because of their religion can not be tolerated. With that said, I want Britain OUT of Northern Ireland. Once Ireland is unified, the IRA will have little or no support anywhere, and almost all of their attacks will stop. If any continue to attack civilians, both sides can work together against them, and finally defeat them. I believe this will happen once the country is unified. I would call on all Britons to help in this process.

I don't trust Jerry Adams and more or less than I do Ian Paisley. How gracious of you to concede even that small point. However I would remind you that the official newspaper of Sinn Fein said the US was to blame for what happened on 9/11. In contrast, Ian Paisley praised President Bush on the floor of the Commons. Your value system is a touch skewed.
I will protect my home and family under the flag of The United States.
You can protect your loved ones any way you see fit under The Union Jack.
One wonders why you bothered to comment at all, then, since you've just said it's none of your concern. In any event, we are doing what is necessary - and we don't need your bloody permission to do so. However, one would have hoped that since we are shedding blood together in Iraq, as we did in Afghanistan, that we would get some support from our allies, even if it is just Ms. Rice making a few phone calls.
