"I forget. Have we forgiven S&W for playing footsie with the Clintonistas?" That was when S&W was under a British firm. They have since been sold and is, as their advertisements say, "American made, American Owned". I'll certainly buy another pistol from them when I get the urge.

I forget. Have we forgiven S&W for playing footsie with the Clintonistas? Yeah, the Brits that owned it then sold it to a completely different set of people.

Yes. They ended their Brit captivity and were sold to good Americans. The Clintonoid stain of ignominy has been cleansed from their escutcheon.

Big wrists only. Go to the Sporting Goods store and get a set of the linen wraps worn by boxers under bag gloves for working out on the heavy bag. They stop the wrist and hand bones from being compressed and moved out by recoil of a pistol just as well as by recoil of a punch.
Then go to the baseball department and get a pair of batting gloves with the fingers cut out. They and the wraps will stop skin splitting if they are snug.
You will be good to go until the recoil gets heavy enough to damage your elbows.

I'm saving up for a Smith & Wesson model #386PD. 357 Magnum /.38 S&W Special, 2.5" barrel, 7 round capacity, 17.5 oz. It will fit nicely in my glove compartment. Smith makes a short barreled lightweight titanium .44 Mag.
That seemed improbable.
I wonder how long till we get a featherweigh concealed carry version of this?

haha......that's what stand out for me......saying a 454 Cassul is a light load.........WOW.........my aching wrists and forehead............LOL
To: Servant of the 9
some of these handguns are so huge now I wonder if it probably better just to have a short barreled Marlin in a .444 or 450.......I never shot anything more than a .44 mag in Super Balckhawk and don't really want to.....whoa. Rather have a lever action....maybe 45-70 to take care of matters.

Here's a Ruger that comes in .45 Colt/.454 Casull or .480 Ruger. 1.75" Barrel. "Pocket Sized" for keeping bears away while dressing your game.

I have to ask, why?
What purpose doe's this serve?
I've take everything short of Elk with either 44 mags or 45 long colts. Have only had to shot one animal twice, it was 365lb hog in Albany TX. Being able to make a fast second shot is pretty important, the hog proved that. If you feel you need that much knock down, carry a rifle.
Anybody remember the Century Arms 45-70? I was damn near as heavy as a rifle, and the recoil was brutal.
