Hmmm... try asking the Imam for advice.

Excellent article. Mentioning Apostasy and the treatment of women under Sharia exposes some of Islams' dirty little secrets to public scrutiny and therefore cannot be allowed.

The imam is truly a fountain of wisdom and enlightenment.

Sometimes I'm tempted to write in a gag question just to see what the response will be. Something like, "what religious preparations should be performed before beheading an infidel?" or "I'm in love with a beautiful 9 year old girl and..."

The irony is that, by their own standards, Osama is Apostate.

* waits for Cleric to call for Fatwa on OBL *

[crickets chirping]

sigh.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights thus proclaims that everybody should have the “freedom to change his religion or belief.

The threat of death against those who leave Islam is just another example of how Islam is itself a terrorist organisation.

Islam is all about denying freedom to humans and is certainly inconsistent with freedom of religion.

If Islam were as good as some Muslims believe it is, why can't it stand a little competitition? Islam's fear of competition and its fear of critical examination alone are enough evidence to prove its intrinsic evil nature.

If Islam were indeed a worthwhile religion, it would draw and hold adherents based on its attractiveness and appeal, not on the threat of death.

Islam is more analagous to drug addiction or joining a crime synidicate or a cult than it is a religion.

If everyone, Muslim moderates and non-Muslims alike, cannot speak out about changing Islam's terrorist tactics, Islam will destroy itself (or be destroyed).

You're a hopeless optimist! Shaitan and old-line, radical Islam will always be with us. The hard struggle is to somehow marginalize both. I know of no easy answer, but maybe the Shiites in Iraq have an answer. The Sunni's have persecuted Shiites as apostates for centuries.

Actually, I agree with you about Shaitan (Satan, otherwise known as Allah the moon god).

But what is the opposite of a "hopeless optimist"...a "hopeful pessimist."

Debate is better and more on point when it doesn't included comments on the person or nature of others in the debate but confines itself to the issues at hand.

I agree, DS.

It works on fear and ignorance, and oppresses all it touches.

If Islam were as good as some Muslims believe it is, why can't it stand a little competitition?

To acknowledge other Gods than Allah is to engage in "shirk" (polytheism) and be labeled as "Mushrikun" for whom there are simple choices... conversion, dhuimmitude, or death.

One nuke to Mecca should do it.

Western silence on the apostasy issue will not help Islamic moderates; rather, silence is more likely to make both Muslims and also converts out of Islam believe that the issue is unimportant to the outside world.

Calling the evil empire the "evil empire" had a liberating effect for those under its rule. The same principle applies here.

If she does not repent then the ruling of Allaah should be carried out on her, which is execution, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever changes his religion [leaves Islam], execute him.”

See! They're just like us. < /s>

Islam today is equivalent to Christianity in about 1400 AD. It will be interesting to see Islam's Protestant Reformation.

8-) If you do, let me know how it goes.

There's no comparison. There never has been.

I agree, but I don't think our political leadership is ready to take that step, even limiting the characterization to Muslim fundamentalists.
