"This is democracy," said an elderly woman in a black abaya, Karfia Abbasi, holding up a thumb stained with purple ink to prove she had voted.

I hope no one takes this as stealing from the President, but...

"FREEDOM IS ON THE MARCH"!

Wow. Such amazing pictures.

What these people braved to cast a ballot is unreal.

God bless America. The ONLY nation on this earth that is still strong and brave enough to lead the way and pay the price to overthrow an evil tyrant and bring freedom to the oppressed.

Considering Democrats' hatred of the President, the events today in Iraq must be their worst nightmare. It is the worst of all possible worlds to have to concede that, with a 70%+ turnout, George Bush may have succeeded in demonstrating that Democracy is a greater attractive force than terrorism.

The result is a message that is being heard around the world, one that will change the paradigm of both friends and foes.

What is happening with the Iraqi vote possibly even justifies the effort, and not just in Iraq. This repeats Mr. Bush’s prior success in Afghanistan. It sends the message that he is correct - democracy is a stronger force than hatred. Two wins, no losses.

Further, it lends credibility to those in Europe who believed that France, Germany and the UN were in error opposing the United States on what to do, and why to do it. Tony Blair’s political capital goes up, too. The American success makes the UN look ridiculous; they should have done it, but couldn’t.

Domestically, the vote in Iraq raises the political capital and credibility of President Bush and Secretary of State Condi Rice while it further diminishes the likes of Kerry, Kennedy and Boxer in the eyes of fellow politicians and the voting public.

Democracy won a big one today. And the cynical Democrats lost...big time.

With tears rolling down her eyes, a veiled Iraqi woman shows off her finger stained with blue ink and a small card reading 'Elect Iraq (news - web sites)' after she cast her vote in a polling station in Amman, January 30, 2005. Millions of Iraqis flocked to vote in a historic election on Sunday, defying insurgents who killed 25 people in bloody attacks aimed at wrecking the poll. REUTERS/Ali Jarekji

Thanks for posting these; let's spread them everywhere.
Please, please, President Bush use these photos and the hundreds of others out there in a slide show during the State of the Union speech. Let the MSM know you're not taking their spin any longer. The pictures are beautiful and inspiring to all who love freedom.

America has lost many of its children to see this day. The seeds of freedom have been planted; so have the seeds of peace between our two nations.

We have lost thousands to see this day, but maybe, because of yesterday, we may have saved hundreds of thousands.....

May God Bless the coalition as they bring the fight to the enemies of freedom...................

This Iraqi election and the results should silence all whose argument was “do Iraqi People appreciate all that President bush has said and done?” The leaders of all tyrannies will have their spin but that does not reflect the desire and the right of their people to democracy and freedom. Iran next.
