I believe there is going to be a big change in the left's attitudes toward gun control. As the conservatives win more elections, in the left's minds the government has already gone loopy. There have already been calls for liberals to arm themselves on a small scale and I think those numbers are going to grow. It's one of the reasons I don't take leftists to the gun range. I'm not in the mood to help arm someone who wants to take my Rights away.
As far as the leftist politicans abandoning gun control, it may be a good thing since we don't need more gun control laws and the gun organizations can start on the offensive. It's a bad thing if by abandoning gun control, the left start to win elections and we have to fight against more socialist programs.
