They've got to be nuts. There can't be any real money business lobbying on behalf of this misbegotten treaty except from the left wing foundations, can there? It's totally anti-business. Who would profit other than third-world basket cases?
I can see why the Republicans favor trade with China, despite all our objections, because there are import businesses that profit from this trade and pay them to support it. But who would kick in for this?
Contact your Senators bump!
Demand an actual floor debate and vote, with tabulated results. No "unanimous consent" BS, which is what Lugar is pushing.
done.
We can bitch all we want, but I feel if they want to do this it will happen whether we like it or not. I will write my letters but I am starting to feel like we are being forced into world government from the whole of our government.

When the average person starts to understand that re-electing anyone is the wrong thing to do, then we'll have a new group who won't be led by a handful of corrupt power hungry sonsabitches who do not have America, the Republic, first in mind as their Oath of Office states.

Sovereignty-sapping treaty getting scrutiny: senators finally balking at U.N. agreement
World Net Daily: Sovereignty-sapping treaty getting scrutiny
Center for Security Policy
Bump. Again we have to fax, email and call our representatives. This LOST thing is getting to be a weekly outrage.
Dear Elected officials
JUST DROP IT! NO MORE TREATIES THAT GIVE AWAY OUR SOVEREIGNTY.
end of message
Why isn't this sparking more outrage on Freerepublic? This is a frontal assault on our nation's sovereignty, and it's being facilitated by the Bush Administration!!
Is it that conservatives just don't care about sovereignty, or is this just another one of those issues that we're supposed to ignore, because Bush is the one who's championing it? (like, illegal immigration, government spending, etc.)
Well some of us have been mailing and calling our representatives for the last year or so. Its upwards of 3 or 4 times that they've trotted it out this year alone.
We need help here freepers! Who can we add to the pinglist?
JUst sent off a letter of opposition (again) to Senator Bond.
Those people are gonna keep trying to shove LOST down our throats unless we kill it once and for all.
Actually I think it is becuse people dont care about the oceans. This is why most fisheries around the globe are endangered and 90% of all large fish are gone.
And, remember the states bordering the oceans are blue.

Opportunity knocking: defeat Law of the Sea Treaty
Phyllis Schlafly
February 7, 2005
Excerpt:
"...Conservatives are currently searching for a man of pro-American principles whom they can support for President in 2008. The Republican senator or governor who steps up to the plate can hit a home run if he leads the battle against LOST's enormous wealth transfer to the unpopular United Nations.
The LOST is grounded in such un-American and un-Republican concepts as global socialism and world government. There is not much of a constituency today for giving more power and wealth to the United Nations, whose officials just committed the biggest corruption in history (oil-for-food) and continually use the United Nations as a platform for anti-American diatribes."
Great link, Seadog. Schlafly definitely gets it.
