It was really Lynda "BIRD". (There was Lady Bird, Lynda Bird and Luci Bird) The Johnsons were very big on fowl..;-D
I believe that's incorrect. It was Lynda Byrd, and her sister's name was Luci Baines.
Regards.
If one of the twins chooses to marry in her early twenties, I'd like to see the wedding held at the White House. It would be nice if the other twin, if she were to marry, would have it at the ranch in Crawford. There is a certain spot there, very picturesque, that I believe the president is quoted as saying would make a good place to have a wedding. (Of course, the girls & their guys would be free to choose any place they want, which may be neither of the above!)
Uhhhh.......never mind.
As nicknames each Johnson "gal" had "bird" attached to their names...I can't make this stuff up ;-)
To quote Paul Harvey: "Gonads are useful for their purpose, but they are no substitute for brains."
"It was really Lynda "BIRD". (There was Lady Bird, Lynda Bird and Luci Bird) The Johnsons were very big on fowl..;-D"
Was that fowl or foul??
I think the brunette is a lot prettier.
I think "Luci" changed her name legally... but I can't remember if she went from "Luci" to "Lucy" or vice versa. Lady Bird's real name was Claudia....
I recall that Lyndon was very much into the LBJ thing, including having a dog named Little Beagle Johnson.
No, there's no making that stuff up. :)
Yes, you are right. "Lady Bird" was a nickname, but the daughter's name really was "Byrd." "Baines" was the maiden name of Lyndon Johnson's mother, Rebecca Baines Johnson. I'm not making this stuff up!
ROTFLMAO!!!! That is too funny!!
Adding to the confusion is that the family itself seemed to have trouble keeping it straight. At the LBJ Museum's Web site, there are notations of phone calls from "Lynda Bird" Johnson, "Lynda Byrd" Johnson, and (I think) "Linda Bird" Johnson. He shoulda just called her Sabu, it would have been easier to keep straight.
You know, I only just realized "Lynda" must have come from "Lyndon." Well, of course he named her after himself! Funny how that never occurred to me before. As for confusion, I admit I never could remember which Bush twin was Jenna and which was Barbara....
He's the new Tourist Guy!
I keep track by remembering that Barbara doesn't look like her Grandma Barbara. I don't think. . .
Looks like they are dancing and he dipped her. The camera angle is a bit funky, so it's hard to tell if he is:
a.Kissing her cheek
b. Kissing her neck
c. Saying something in her ear.
d. trying to get the momentum to pull them both back to standing.
On a dance floor, snapping a frame from a continuous movement can look wierd.
Uhh. O.K.
But from where I stand, if I were George III, I be reaching for my shotgun.
How do you know this guy isn't just a suave political opportunist trying to romance the President's daughter? He's obviously got polical aspirations. If he was a dentist or doctor, or nuclear physicist, I'd say he was interested in her for herself.
