Of the ones mentioned Rommney sounds best. But its way to early. If the GOP rolls over on any of the big issues they are asking for trouble. If the GOP money machine backs a RINO the fix is in and Hitlery will be crowned Queen.

That's true, I had forgotten that he is an older gentleman as well.

Along with his HUD experience, I guess he could make a pretty decent VP candidate.

Barrack Obama is a Shooting Star and will never amount to anything in American Politics. He will outrun his media coverage and end up as a burned out Democratic Pol in the tradition of Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and Barbara Boxer.

I am simply answering your question, and pointing out that unmarried women can be successful leaders.

As pointed out in an earlier posting, leadership skills were never an issue. Its a question of electability. An unmarried woman or man would have difficulty. How many bachelors have been elected president? I believe just one.

God, no, not Ridge. He's as bad as Guiliani. Might as well as Christing Todd Whitless to run!

They still have the title "Senator", though, and therefore, that is a problem.

The nominee will be the one who can put together the best campaign organization and have the discipline and stamina to follow the campaign plan.

All those other things the article talks about are window dressing.

It'll be interesting to see if he can bring out the large # of conservatives in PA. He has stuck to his conservative principles in the senate (except for his support of Spector).

Mel Martinez is not constitutionally eligible to run.

I've never seen Frist become particularly passionate, which is something he'd have to do in a presidential campaign. Maybe he did it in the senate races.

He is very articulate, though. Few people will ever be as good as Clinton in that regard. He has few redeeming qualities, of course, but he was in the major leagues with Ronaldus Maximus in communication.

Plus I think the whole Mormon thing is a little over-blown.

I see you live in Louisiana and are still in college. In a Catholic state and a liberal setting this may not seem a problem but I assure you it is even if the Christian right does not proclaim in in the papers.

I do not agree with this position, but it is there.

BTW My gggggrandfather founded Lafayette.

Governor Sanfords chances are linked straight to his being re-elected and results he gets in Carolina.

I don't expect Sanford to get more than 65% of the vote in 06 in SC. Don't expect him to get less than 63%.

If he chooses, he could be a strong contender for 08.

Well, how many women have been elected? How many blacks?

Rice is so unique I don't think you can make a prediction.

How many concert pianist-figure skating-fluent Russian speakers hae been elected? None.

Jeb isn't going to waste his chance by running in 2008 - he understands the dynasty thing.

he will run against Hillary in 2012, or in 2016 if a republican wins.
